“Delightful and safe tropical getaway”

The pictures from the travel sites represented the hotel very well. It was extremely clean and picturesque. The beds were comfortable and the maid service cleaned our used glasses and utensils everyday, too. The staff was very helpful with assisting as we made plans, securing a taxi, and giving us feedback on the area. The views of both the bay and hillside are stunning, it is in the heart of downtown, though. All day there is a lot of activity on the streets, open market, fish being sold, vehicle noise. The street life is pretty active at night, too, but dies down around 10 pm. For the price it was the best hotel in the area.

“views are suberb”

we enjoyed staying at The Downtown hotel if we had to visit soufriere again we will definitely stay there again. The only thing that made us very uncomfortable is the beggers outside the hotel - they are very agressive not good for tourists. But other than that we loved our stay at the hotel.

“Piton Adventure”

We stayed 1 night in Soufriere to climb the Gros Piton the following morning. The Downtown Hotel is located in the heart of Soufriere, close from everything. Service at this hotel was great and Front Desk Agent was very friendly and helpful. Perfect location and atmosphere!

“A great way to experience another culture.”

Overall, I liked the hotel because it's right down in the middle of the town and you live as the locals do (or kind of like they do). I didn't want anything luxurious. If you DO want that, I suggest going to a resort. This was more along the lines of a real experience of how the St. Lucians live. The staff was very helpful in every way. They helped me make arrangements for things and gave me info about the area. I would stay here again...it just wasn't what I originally envisioned. I had a great view of the local square area and was able to videotape festivities. It was fun. Great location. I'm glad I stayed here. It gave me an experience I wasn't expecting to have on this trip.

“Very affordable place in beautiful paradise”

Good location near the beach. Security guard at night making you feel safe. Very affordable and perfect for budget travelers. The best part about this hotel is the people who work there. The front desk lady (Charma) was so accomodating when switching our mini-fridge that was not working properly, providing us with maps/directions/restaurant suggestions etc and arranging transportation with the driver (Marcus). These two went out of their way to make our trip extra special and enjoyable. Can't thank them enough for being so warm, friendly and kind to their guests - they treated us like their old friends. We'll absolutely return!!

The hotel was centrally located in the downtown area and very clean and nice.

“Good value and location”

The Downtown Hotel is at its name suggests, smack in the middle of the small seaside town of Soufriere on the main road south from Catries. Rooms facing the Pitons on the top floor are excellent and also afford good views of the waterfornt and quayside activity. I found the hotel to be clean, well-appointed and the front desk astaff extremely helpful and welcoming. Price-value ratio would be hard to beat.

Everything was great except the bathroom. Some weird smells and noises and no soap.
