Quiet, peaceful, great value.Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: EVERYTHING! Peace & quiet, extremely personal attention, Claudius- we really feel we got the best of everything at a great price.
Cons: Ummmmm....wish I could stay longer
Location: Take Colin's advise- Do Pigeon park & snorkel one day, take the Island with Claudius for SURE! Lunch overlooking the Pitons then snorkeling below.
We chose St. Lucia for our first Caribbean vacation- looking for a place with a great local culture, lots of natural beauty, and not a big party scene with crowds. I felt that some all-inclusive are so gentrified that a part of the experience is lost not venturing out beyond the resort walls. Villa Beach was AMAZING. Colin, the owner, personally sat with us for over a half hour- welcoming us, finding out what we'd like to do, suggessting the "best of" sights, and making everything easy easy. His driver - Claudius- and he was more than a driver- would bring us everywhere- go ahead and arrange for the restaurant to call him as we finished dinner, got us the best seats, knew everyone, took us on a personal tour of the island ( we were not crammed into a tour bus) It was PHENOMINAL. Our room was on the second level- spacious with a balcony- a full kitchen- and a view of the ocean. I think I literally saw 10 other guest the entire time. It is very relaxing. If you are looking for a party scene- this is not for you. If you want to dig into a good book while sitting on your balcony overlooking the ocean...maybe getting a massage later on the gazebo---and just hear the ocean waves- then this is your place.
