Beach is very crowded especially as they allow cruise ship day-trippers. Ugh. In room coffee maker is no where near a plug, so one has to place coffee maker on floor. Annoying. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly but getting something is definitely on "island time".

Great room but terrible food and server service.Posted Feb 25, 2013
Pros: Sitting on Patio especially at night
Cons: The food and the wait staff -- terrible
Location: Man made beach was ok but not what I expected from the carribean. Water was not the Aqua blue nor was it particularly warm but I found it refreshing
The property itself is beautiful and the rooms are quite nice with huge semi - private balconies that have great views and even greater breezes blowing across them. I could sit out there all night. The rooms were kept clean and the maid service was excellent. On the down side: not easy/convenient to leave the facility for either breakfast or lunch. You need to take the shuttle from wherever you are to the lobby and if you are in your room it may take a while for them to arrive. As a result, you end up eating in the facility. The food and service are poor. There were 6 of us and numerous meals were either sent back or at least complained about. It took forever to get a server and to get served which is probably due to the tip being included in the bill and shared amongst all of the staff -- no personal accountability was witnessed. All in all, it was a good vacation but I would not go back.

Good resort with some flawsPosted Feb 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall a great stay thanks mainly to the experienced front-line staff. First night was a disappointment due to a broken lock and a broken shower - none of which got fixed while we stayed in the room. However, next day the duty manager R.C. upgraded us to a much better room for the remaining two nights of our stay in order to compensate us for the ordeal of the first night. This certainly worked and we were generally very happy with the last two nights of our stay.

a Perfect Place for FamiliesPosted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Location, Villas, friendlyness/professionalism of staff
Cons: can't think of...
Location: Great location and self contained -
I visited St. Lucia with my 13-year old son and 19-year old daughter - everything went perfectly - the location, staff, things to do, comfort - all were A1. I strongly recommend this place for families with kids - We stayed in 2-bedreoom villa that was very open architecture and felt at home the minute we arrive there… the service was truly transparent… Simply, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Please make sure to think twice before climbing the Gross Piton mountain - it is a rough 2-mile almost vertical climb.

Disappointing marketingPosted Nov 6, 2012
Pros: Other guests, the market and fabulous fruits
Cons: Misleading marketing which resulted in disappointment.
Location: Good location for the north of the island. However, when flying in from the south there is 1 1/2 hour drive from the airport to the resort.
It is a good resort with lots of different activities. The staff are laid back and on the whole wanting to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. They are very focused on trying to get you to return to their island. Sadly, we have two main disappointments from our stay. Firstly, we thought we were booking the pool that was shown on the Expedia description. However, this pool is an 'infinity' pool. Most of the villas have 'plunge' pools which are actually slightly larger then hot tubs. This was a huge disappointment as we booked the two-bedroomed villa thinking we would be getting the pool shown on the Expedia advert. Secondly, the kid's club was hit and miss. Out of the whole week our son attended two sessions. Not the club we expected and certainly not what was advertised.

A good choice for a family with kids from 7-16 yrsPosted Oct 29, 2012
A very good choice for families - we stayed in a two bed villa which we found very comfortable and spacious and the abiltiy to make simple snacks in the room for kids was great. The beach and the water sport facilities are very good and appealed to an 8 year old and 13 year old. The service ranges from excellent to being ignored and verging on rude depending on the person you are dealing with. In one instance we had to enlist the help of the genral manager just to make a reservation in one of the hotel restaurants. That said it did not spoil the trip nor the overall experience which still comes down on the positve and we may well return. I would recommend this for stays of 7-10 days.

Trip of a lifetimePosted Oct 3, 2012
I recently just spent 7 days at the WIndjammer for my honeymoon. The pictures do not do the resort justice, because it is extremely beautiful. Everything from the landscaping to the attitude of the staff was unparallelled. I cannot emphasize how perfect the stay was for my wife and myself. While also touring the island we had a chance to stop and have drinks at other resorts on the island. The resorts were neither as nice, nor did they have the same easy and well designed layout that the Windjammer had. Food can be very pricey from day to day, so I would recommend all inclusive package.

Excellent, full service resort in a great locationPosted Sep 27, 2012
Pros: Service and range of available facilities
Location: excellent location on northwest side of the island
Excellent service including room service, transportation, concierge. On-site restaurants provide a variety of menus at reasonable prices. Plenty of sights to explore on the island. If you're staying a week or more, we suggest renting a vehicle, Taxi service can be expensive. If you like staying put and just relaxing, the resort is quite self contained.

Location: MIDDLE OF NO-WHERE
OUR ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED THE ENTIRE STAY, WE ORDERED ROOM SERVICE FOR DINNER 1 EVENING AND THE DISHES & LEFTOVER FOOD WAS STILL THERE WHEN WE CHECKED OUT. THE STAFF AT THE RESTAURANT FOR BREAKFAST WAS NOT FRIENDLEY AT ALL. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE ENTIRE STAY AT WINDJAMMER
