Older hotel on beach

Posted May 1, 2015
We needed to stay for one night and thought it was a decent older hotel. Great beach view, good pool, good location. Very lively which was nice and bad at the same time. If there was anyone having a conversation outside your room it was very loud. Could be updated more but it was OK. Not sure if I would want to stay here for a week though.

Nice hotel right on the beach-unfriendly staff

Posted Apr 27, 2015
We only stayed at the hotel for one night. We got the impression that it was more built for a week long stay. The reception staff was not friendly and at times they were really short with us getting close to being rude. Other than that the hotel was perfect. just what we were looking for. The other thing I didn't enjoy is that they charges us an additional resort fee per day above the fees we paid on expedia. I thought that was against expedia's policy but they still made us pay it. I

hotel bien placé mais décevant

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: bon emplacement

Good average hotel, with safe enclosed beach.

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Convenient location to restaurants, main strip, supermarket, casino, beach.
Cons: Check -in facility, activities
Got poor choice of room, facing parking lot and busy street for two weeks.Requested room change but to no avail even though occupancy was far less than 100%.Walmart parking lot would have been more exciting. Beach was enclosed and safe.. Small ground area and a bit claustrophobic.

Great Value Hotel

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Room size. Proximity to airport. Friendly staff & other guests.
Cons: Only 2 check-in desks, and a very small reception area, it was a little slow. Restaurant was OK, but better dining options nearby.
Location: Within walking distance there is the Hollywood Casino, Bon Appetit restaurant is good and also serves pastries in the morning.
We stayed here on a recommendation from a friend. This is a timeshare property that also doubles as a hotel. We stayed in a good sized studio with a full kitchen. Comfortable king-size bed, 2 televisions, balcony, and a living room area which you can also make separate via an accordion partition. Hotel has 2 separate beaches (relatively small) and a pool. There is one restaurant on the premises, but others within walking distance and many others within a close drive. While on the grounds,we spent most of our time at the pool. The beach could get crowded at times but you could always find an area to lounge. The pool bar had 2-1 specials on a selection of drinks during the daytime hours. Plenty of free parking, though the spots are very tight (we had a rental car). There is a market within walking distance if you want to stock up on food. There are also complimentary clothes washers & dryers on the premises (not in the room), you provide the detergent.

Flamingo Hotel

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Free laundry is a major bonus for us. The restaurant on site is convenient. The pool is a great area to hang out after a long day at the beach.
Cons: Don't expect to snorkel at the beach in Simpson Bay. There's nothing out there. The water is absolutely beautiful and clear but has no reefs.
Location: Blackbeard is down the street. Take the sailboat to the Prickly Pear in Anguilla to see even more incredible beaches.
The Flamingo Resort is in an excellent location for St. Martin. It is super convenient to the airport, grocery stores and restaurants. You wouldn't even need a car if you so choose. As a first time visitor we were concerned about if it is an ideal location. This is it. After touring the entire island one afternoon, I was confident we made the right choice. This location is perfect. The resort is very big but there is plenty of space for everyone to find space on the beach without feeling too crowded. The staff is always visible and help set up umbrellas and chairs for you. The property is impeccably maintained. Yes, it's older but for a frequent traveler of the Caribbean, this is to be expected. It is clean, safe and convenient. This is a time share property. We ignored the calls we got from a salesperson for the resort. They will leave you alone after a few rejections. That is always a turn off for me but I guess they're just doing their job. Across the street is small grocery store with fresh croissants and French baguettes delivered daily. They were the highlight every morning! We had 2 teenagers with us. This resort (and maybe all the resorts in St. Martin-not sure) has a lot of older people. There aren't many kids or things for kids to do besides swimming. Our 15 year old boy was bored.
