Great Place in Orient Beach.Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: Great location, beautiful views and wonderful staff.
Location: Close easy walk to the beaches and yet, very private.
This was the 6th year I have stayed at La Plantation. As always, I was very impressed with the staff, the property and the quality. I have stayed at many other spots on St. Martin, but always go back to La Plantation.

Prestations correctes. Il faudrait ''rafraichir'' la chambre (peinture)

Charming bungalow with sea viewPosted Feb 9, 2015
Private, spacious room with terrace, sea view. Easy walk to beach. The restaurant is very good and decent value, hardworking staff. We really enjoyed a candlelit dinner by the pool. Although nicely situated, the room decor is dated and was not super clean. The beach (Orient Bay) is fantastic with many casual chic restaurants.

Barely qualifies as a hotelPosted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was nice. It was a very clean hotel, but not at all comfortable.
Cons: Some minimal food or beverage service abailable during the day. Furniture in the rooms which is comfortable.
Location: The hotel is a five minute walk to lively Orient Bay. At night, Orient Bay Village--a somewhat longer walk--has some very nice restaurants.
We arrived on a Sunday. The bar and restaurant were closed. We had to walk half a mile to get a drink. The rest of the week the hotel had nothing available after breakfast until dinner. You couldn't even buy a bottle of water. The restaurant is of average quality and way overpriced. The welcome coupon for a free drink was denied because we ordered the wrong drinks. I ordered a planter's punch and my friend ordered a pina colada. When I asked which drinks would be covered by the coupon, the bartender said, "a planter's punch, but not that one." The hotel looks beautiful from the outside, and is well-maintained by a pleasant staff. But the rooms have no furniture that is comfortable to sit on, and the beds are covered with mosquito netting for good reason. The bathroom shower had no enclosure of any kind, so the floor was flooded after every shower.

This hotel was similar to a dated Days Inn dropped into paradise. The area is beautiful and the beach is amazing. But the room was not very nice, a few things were broken, the TV didn't work, wifi works maybe 20% of the time but doesn't hold a signal, the ladies at the front desk were put out by my only request which was "hi, where should I pick up a beach towel?" and there was roof work next door starting around 7:30 each morning. Positives: Nice pool. Short walk to the awesome town and beach. Hot water. Air conditioning. Nice view from the patio with a table and two chairs. The housekeepers and ground crew were friendly and always offered a smile and a wave.
