“A most pleasant place”

The grounds were well kept, and the views of Orient Bay were beautiful. Frogs croaking at night and birds singing by day added to the tropical atmosphere. The staff at the front desk and at the restaurant were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and nicely decorated. There was a minimal kitchen, but the available utensils would make it difficult to prepare a very sophisticated meal. There are mosquitoes in the evenings, but the bed is covered with mosquito netting. Air conditioning kept the room very comfortable. The only negative is that the hotel guests don’t seem to realize or care how unpleasant it is to share their cigarette smoke with non-smokers especially in restaurants.

“Relaxing Retreat”

Recently spent 5 days at La Plantation. Found the rooms to be spacious and private and the staff to be very pleasant. The continental breakfast at the restaurant was by far the best complimentary conintental breakfast that I've had---the French love their food! Enjoyed staying in French St. Martin but found the rental car useful to visit the Dutch side where one can find more nightlife. This hotel is smaler...not at all a large resort...but would recommend to anyone who might appreciate getting off the "beaten path" in St. Martin.

“What A Surprise”

Since this hotel was rated 2 and a half stars I was surprised at how wonderful it was. The rooms were spacious, yet homey and quaint. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. I highly recommend the mixed salad with broiled goat cheese and fillet of duck. The best adjective to describe Hotel La Plantation is charmingly French. All in all a fantastic stay!

“It was wonderful !”

I really enjoyed our stay at La Plantation it was an experience I will not forget. The Hotel was close to the beaches and nice places to eat casually without a lot of hurry. I paticularly like the custom of, a shot of rum after dinner. It was great.

“The ideal place to stay”

Our suite was huge and the porch was an additional 400 sq ft with a true postcard view of Orient Bay. The inconvenience of the short walk or ride down to the beach was offset by the privacy and quietness of the location. Orient Bay beach is alive and entertaining, but still very enjoyable. There were always plenty of complimentary chairs and umbrellas and never a lack of interesting sun worshipers. This is NOT a beach for prudes. The restaurants of Grand Case were only a ten minute drive away. This was our first trip to St. Martin and we feel very lucky that we chose this beach and this hotel.

“Very nice”

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The studio was spacious with a large balcony. It was close to the beach which was a big plus. You could get to the beach without a car. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“An Oasis of Peace & Calm”

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda. We had a good view of the ocean in the distance. Hotel service was topnotch. Everyone was very friendly and spoke English fluently. The ambiance of the hotel restaurant is romantic. Dinner was tasty, and the complimentary breakfast was filling (although there was a lack if variety from day to day). The beach is an easy 5 minute walk from the hotel. The only cons (which are quite minor): It costs $15 an hour to use the computer, and there were small ants in our room.

“Romantic charm”

Very romantic, classic Carribean, courteous staff, exquisite dinner (foie gras), close to the beach and Orient beach. Fresh bouganvilla pedals spread around room, and other charming touches. Perfectly clean. Private patio. Would definitely return.
