Fantastic resort with few frustrations.

The resort was extremely pleasing and I wish we had booked longer - unfortunately we didn't because St Martin was only an overnight stay whilst we were based in Anguilla. You need to be careful because the facilities are so great, you're in danger of not leaving the resort and missing out on what SXM has to offer!! I only have two minor frustrations - 1) Refundable deposit of $150/room was not known until check-in. The deposit itself isn't a problem but it'd be good to know ahead of time so that travellers without credit card facilities don't lose a large chunk of their spending money before the holiday even begins. 2) Bathrooms in both rooms were not completely cleaned as both bathrooms had a previous stayer's hair in the sinks and on the shower walls. This should've been cleaned before our stay, and seemed odd that it was like that in both rooms in different parts of the resort.

Stayed there for 3 nights, room was clean neately designed. Hotel has been complitely renovated so equipments are all new. friendly staff and reactive.

Great experience!! Great facilities although we were at the top of a steep hill. If you were not able to walk it there was a shuttle who drove you to the door and was available with just one phone call!! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and grounds well cared for!!

Cons: stop the time share stuff at check in. luckily some guest told me what they were up to and I just told the concierge that I was not doing timeshare
Location: bus close by across from burger king to go to airport and philipsburg for $2.
Room was really great. Fridge, microwave, safe, stove, dishes. To go anywhere outside there are a lot of steps and hills to contend with as the complex has many many buildings. I did not have a good view but the room was still exceptional. The local store on the premises made my stay even better.

Pros: L'appartement est très bien.
Cons: L'enregistrement, l'accueil, la possibilité de garer quand on arrive au lobby, plus de personnes qui parlent français.
Location: Saint-Martin est petit et on a intérêt à bouger et à sortir partout pour connaitre , vu que la vie nocturne est intense dans tous les quartiers;
3 fois restés pris dans l'ascenseur en panne ! Chambre attribuée au départ qui était occupée. Check in très tardif (16H), bagages pas livré en chambre comme prévu. Mais bel appartement et superbe vue! Serviettes changées et lit fait tous les jours mais pas ménage. Dommage !

Swim, yes, but SNORKLE!!!!!

Pros: The rooms were really very nice, and the kitchen was VERY well equipped. Linens in the bath and bed were excellent.
Cons: It would be nice to have a circulating trolley just for the grounds as the hills can be difficult for those with bad knees, and the lobby is far away!
Location: The Green House restaurant has local favorites. Great fish tacos.Their happy hour offers 2-for-1 drinks and many of the appetizers are half price.
The relatively small swimming beach has decent sand (stay to your left for the best sand), and an easy walk into calm waters. It is great for kids to grandmothers. But the highlight of the swimming area is the sea grass and rocks... the fish watching there was equal to that on Creole Rock (a $100 half-day trip). Save your $$$ and snorkel outside your room!!!

Very large spread out complex, not the place if you want to be on the beach. Room was very nice, modern and well equipped kitchen. Small TV 34". Small bathroom, weird vacuum toilet. There were a number of hairs left in the bathroom, but overall room was clean.

Immaculate room in an older resort

Pros: Cleanliness, newness of rooms, nice staff, great onsite restaurant.
Cons: Ceiling fan was of low quality. Wifi connection was intermittent. Too much concrete. More of an apartment feel than a resort feel.
Location: Just off of Simpson Bay road where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Brief 10-minute ride to airport if no traffic.
My room was immaculate. It was totally upgraded and very clean. Nice modern furniture, appliances and fixtures. The only thing about the room that could be improved is the ceiling fan. Even on a high setting, the air flow was minimal. The resort overall was an older complex, but extremely well kept and clean. It felt like a concrete jungle though as it was a conglomeration of buildings. The building I stayed in was nowhere near the beach or even the main building. The beach at the adjacent Flamboyant resort was lovely, but the beach at this resort was marginal. I used the shuttle service to get to/from my room with my luggage and to/from the restaurant on the night I arrived. Otherwise I walked around the complex, although it was quite the hike. If walking, especially up/down stairs or at an incline are difficult for you, DO NOT stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Bon Appetit restaurant was awesome. The nightly rate was very reasonable. The wifi connection was spotty. Given the option, I would rate this as a 3.5 star resort. I personally didn't like all the concrete, but the room was comfortable and clean, which is a huge plus.

Big Resort with poor customer service

When we arrived at the hotel we were givin our room key a map and sent on our way. We didn't feel like waiting for a shuttle so we made the walk to the room. After we walked up hill (a lot farther then we thought) we got to our room and opened the door to find people in our room. Both us and them very embarrassed we turned around and walked all the way back to the front desk. The staff was not apologetic they didn't comp anything, we had to pay full price to move our room to a closer location near the beach. The front desk clerk got an attitude and was very rude to us. We wanted to cancel our room at this point but wouldn't have been refunded so we were forced to pay extra to stay. When we finally got in our new more expensive room with seperate beds, two of the lights and the remote control did not work. While we took a nap someone tried to enter our room. We didn't feel safe at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. The gentleman at checkout was very kind and wish we could have had him at check in.
