“Not Impressed”
Hotel location is good. Very nice beach & short walk into Phillipsburg. Our room was good; 2nd floor ocean view (we would have preferred higher). Daily music & poolside activities were appreciated by all. Maid services were inconsistent from day-to day (obvious over our 6 day stay). Shortage of towels meant we had to request lacking towels each day. Food quality at buffet & Italian restaurant were less than we hoped for; thankfully we did not have the meal plan & would not recommend that to others.
“hoping to go back”
real good hotel except the buffet are always the same types of food but still the cofee is very good, and the workers are good hopping to go back next year great location just 20 min from shopping u dont have to rent a car if going to shop
“Utilizing two hotels in one”
The Sonesta has a sister hotel near airport which can be used by both hotel guest. This is a new program and is very worthwhile if going all inclusive.
“Will Go Back”
Great Hotel. Great and friendly staff. I would suggest going for the all inclusive. It includes 3 full buffet meals per day. Drinks are included from either the buffet, the lobby bar, lounge bar, pool bar, casino or the pool level bar. If you have an ocean view room. you can watch the cruise ships come into the Great Bay and dock on the far side in the morning and leave come night fall. When the room states "Mountain view"...They mean it. Across the tiny street in front of the hotel is a very steep mountain with a radio tower on top. The Hotel also offers 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for rent. these are very nice & come with a small kitchenette, dining table, fold out couch and a larger bathroom with a tub.
“Don't go in the off season”
Due to road work thaty takes place yearly during the off season it took 2 hours for a 20 minute ride from airport to hotel. We were blasted with rap music by the poo for hours every dayl .Front desk personnel placed higher priority on their private conversations and we repeatedly had to wait for them to finish before being attended to. One maid left too much water on the tile floor of our room and I fell landing on my elbow causing a painful bruise. She blamed our balcony door being open 5-6 inches causing the moisture. 15% service charge is posted on all restaurant bills but none of this goes to serving staff. In order for them to get a tip an additional amount had to be left. The trips advertised for water sports aren 't run by the hotel and vendors weren't answering their phones. TV reception was poor and no movies were available. Requested aisle seats for my wife and I on airline were not assigned as requested though I was assured they were both aisle seats. None were avsailable at check in.

“Disappointed!”
The pictures looked great and the ater was....the facilities have seen better days. We were looking for luxury and got abudget hotel. My husband was stuck in the elevator for an hour and they were not working much of our visit. The dining staff was wonderful though-attentive but not intrusive, and friendly. The food was plentiful but much was spicy-a no,no for both of us. I would not go back.
“Great”
The only thing I would like to mention is that the internet connection was very slow. THere were times when there was absolutely no connection.
“Nice for the price”
This was a nice hotel for the money in a good location but needs updating. Staff was friendly and helpful. We did not have a meal plan but ate at their restaurant a few times for the convenience and it was costly. Wish hotel would offered a more affordable meal plan. Biggest complaint is that there was no music/entertainment day and night. We would go back again since the price right.
“Worst than a motel! Not resort quality!”
Hotel is close to Front St. where all the shops are. The beach was clean and you get a good view of all the cruise ships but that's about it. Everything else about the hotel was terrible. The people at the front desk were unfriendly and rude. They could care less. No one ever greeted us with a smile. We asked for a fridge and they charged us $5 per night. When checking out, there was a line of people waiting since only one person handled the check outs while three other front desk staff stood around. Very inefficient! The rooms were very outdated. I have stayed in motels that were much nicer. The bathroom was horrible. Even my 4 yr old daughter asked if we could go somewhere else. They didn't have a tub and they created a separate shower area with a glass wall that didn't enclose the shower area. Everytime you shower water would gush into the rest of the bathroom. Lighting was bad and decor needed major updating. You can feel the springs on the beds and it made squeaky noises when you move or turn. The staff in the restaurants were not friendly as well. Food was only ok. This hotel is definitely not resort quality and not 3 stars. It's worst than a motel.
