Pros: I enjoyed the authentic railroad theme carried out in the hotel. It was tastefully done and would be a fun place to bring children.
Location: Gabe's Pub, down the street, has great food and drinks and a fun neighborhood atmosphere. The hotel is just a few minutes' drive from major shopping.
Staff were all exceptionally gracious and helpful.

UnhappyPosted Mar 24, 2015
No coffee cups in room. Room was so cold, called to desk 3 times. Turned something up ,then got worse. Said no maintenance on duty. Eggs cols next morning and sausage. Got money credited back , but you charged us 200.00 plus and they only refunded us 177.00. Also will not book with Expedia. Would like to know why we never got full amount back.

Great night and pleasant morning....Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: unique architecture....
Cons: Water temp in pool could be a bit cooler....
Our extended family of 8 kids and adults stayed at the Best Western Bandana Square.... A wonderful place to stay.... Came in late and found the pool all to ourselves...Wore the kids out so the would sleep sound..... We stayed on the North side of the building and parked right next to a side entrance..... Rooms were unique, clean and comfortable.... Breakfast the next morning early and we were on our way.... Solid hot meal with fresh brewed coffee and fruit for the road...We will return when visiting the Twin Cities again...

Great Value w/ Unique CharmPosted Mar 9, 2015
Well maintained and clean hotel. I loved the unique historic building and didn't feel like any amenities or comfort was sacrificed for the charm.

Ok place to stayPosted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: Front desk ladies were awesome and the shuttle guy was fantastic!!! Having the shuttle service was so nice also.
Cons: Get a different bartender!!! LOL.
Location: Gabes was about a 1/2 mile from the hotel and it has good food.
Completely horrible bartender! So bad that a group of 8 of us left the bar before ordering and then afterwards 2 more left and stopped by our room to complain about him. The manager pulled him in his office but didn't feel the need to chat with us about the issue. We did complain on our way out and the desk lady said they had several complaints on him in the past...then get rid of him!!! We had a corner room on the main floor next to the laundry room and with the cement floor you could hear the laundry carts vibrating through our room. Also the room was a double and very cramped. The desk chair was squashed in between the bed and the desk making it unusable. Breakfast was fine the first day then the second was questionable.

Pros: I love the location and the fact that it had a cool history.
Cons: Cleanliness of the hallway carpet and getting some better quality pillows.
Location: Plenty of things to do nearby and lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel gave us a comprehensive list of restaurants and we found it quite helpfu
The front desk staff was helpful and courteous. My daughter had difficulty printing so Ben took responsibility for getting the worksheets she needed printed. Another front desk staff member recommended a laundromat to me which turned out to be closeby and very clean. Everyone, with exception of the breakfast person, was friendly and courteous. The room was nice and setting very interesting. The hallway carpets were not too clean and the pillows were extremely small and lumpy.

Interesting LocationPosted Feb 8, 2015
Pros: Nice sized and clean room.
Cons: They could warn you about putting charges on your credit card "just in case". Staff could be friendly, they weren't.
Location: Close to Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. A must see if you haven't been. Snuffy's has excellent old fashioned drive-in food.
Hotel inside an old train building. Great fun idea. Continental breakfast was mediocre at best compared to other hotels.

Pros: Location atmosphere.
Cons: Training of morning staff
Check out desk clerk did not acknowledge us, did not ask how our stay was, nor did he say Thank-You. Breakfast was not fully ready until 6:20, sausages were cold.

Traditional outdated hotelPosted Dec 23, 2014
The hotel is old and outdated. The chlorine smell is intense as you walk in the hotel. The ceiling is low. The personnel was very friendly and nice. Beds were OK. Stayed in it because of convenient location to Hamline University!!!
