Gulf Front Suite

Posted Jul 28, 2015
When we arrived work was being done to refresh the exterior. The exterior gives impression facilities are old, but the rooms are definetly updated. We were very pleased with our accomodations. The two pools were updated in appearance and well cared for. The hot tub was great. There was an outside bar with affordable adult drinks as well as selections for the kids. Overall great value, would highly recommend.

Right on the beach. Large rooms. Comfortable beds.

We were only planning to stay 2 nights but we were having such a good time that we extended our stay another 2 nights. The staff was very accomodating and the amenities were great. The roomy suite was so confortable even though it rained most of our stay, we were able to enjoy it and relaxed in the room.

Hotel on St Pete Beach

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: I liked the fact that it was a suite we stayed in instead of a cramped hotel room.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved is standard upkeep such as painting which they were doing while we were there.
Location: The suites were on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Good restaurants and gift hops nearby.
We took our grandkids for a few days on the beach while on summer break. We understand that this is a beach hotel, or suites. As such, the facilities were excellent. Everyone had a great time and the staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The suite was very comfortable and everything worked as described. In addition , there were two nice pools, a great beach and a beautiful sunset each evening.

Great value for suites

Posted Jul 17, 2015
One girl at the front desk was consistently rude and acted as though we were keeping her from something more important. The rest of the staff, especially Karen in housekeeping and Chris, the bartender were fantastic. Our room was a pretty long haul to the beach but the rooms closer to the beach were smaller so it's a trade off. The cabanas on the beach are worth the cost. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was a lot of noise going on due to outdoor maintenence but it wasn't too bothersome.

Not what I expected

Posted Jul 15, 2015
The staff was very nice and the room itself was very clean, which is most important. However, the pictures I saw when I booked the hotel were beautiful. I was expecting to stay at a really nice beach resort. When I got to the hotel to check in, I didn't think I was in the right place. What I saw in the pictures was not what I saw in real life. It looks like a run down, old hotel. The pools are on the small side and extremely crowded. I had a pool view suite and we had a partial view of the beach, which was nice. But there were men painting the exterior of the building and we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy.

Old - Poorly designed - No Hospitality

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Demolish, Re-design site, build new, hire / train staff who truly know what "Hospitality" means.
Worst hotel experience I have had in 20 years. We a pool view room and were checked into a 15' x 20' vault with no carpet, painted concrete walls, and fixtures that would sell in a furniture assignment shop. No kidding, the bathtub was painted and pealing with rust on all fixtures. Staff appeared to be unhappy from the beginning and when we finally negotiated a better room, we had to pay substantial additional funds outside of what we paid through Expedia. Even then the rooms were equipped with old appliances and furnishings. Even after paying more and providing a "You are awesome, thank you" compliment to the reservation desk person... The response I received was harshly returned as "You better believe it... I am awesome and you are lucky I could move your family to another room at all". Lucky? Really? Never again!
