Not fancy but worth the money.Posted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Reasonably quiet, on the beach and proximity to most nearby attractions.
Cons: Could be updated, but it's not falling down.
Location: Close to all area attractions with plenty to do.
This hotel is old but clean and a nice place to lay your head. A few issues with enough hot water but other than that, I got what I paid for. Staff was pleasant but only available during the day. As said earlier it is not modern, but it has been attended to.

Retro hotel on the beachPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Pet-friendly, on the beach, retro
Cons: Bathroom amenities
Location: Many things to do on Treasure Island itself or cross the draw-bridge over to John's Pass for tons of boutique shopping, tasty restaurants and fun bars
Not sure what others are complaining about in regards to the "distance" from the beach. Algiers is literally on the beach, you walk past the pool, cross the sidewalk trail and boom you're on the beach. Can see the Gulf from the parking lot out front. Very fun retro hotel with a 50s feel. The room isn't laid out like a standard hotel room, more like a one bedroom apartment, which is a plus in my book. Bathroom needed some basic maintenance (toilet was loose from floor, shower knows were wobbly) but for the price and the fact that it's on the beach I wasn't disappointed whatsoever. And they're pet-friendly!

Clean hotel on the beach reasonably priced.Posted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: Clean Pet friendly. On the beach. One bedroom suite larger than a hotel room. Reasonably priced. Nice pool.
Cons: For this price point hotel, nothing.
Location: Centrally located. Good proximity to shopping (particularly John's Pass) and many restaurants.

Loved it as soon as we got therePosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Price, location, cleanliness
Location: Beach, shopping
Room was clean and comfortable. Checking in and out was easy. The pool was steps away and the quick access to the beach was very convenient. We will be coming back.

Not Very HappyPosted Sep 20, 2013
Cons: Fix everything I just complained about
Location: I guess if you were looking for something to do it was there but my stay was because my spouse was in the Hospital
There was no clerk there at either check in or check out. I had to cross a very busy street to another Hotel to get key and return key. People in room next to me were very loud and they were smoking outside my window. Bed was very uncomfortable and tub filled with water while showering

Perfect, on the beach.Posted Sep 15, 2013
Cons: The cop on 107th.... we got a speeding ticket coming back to the room.
Location: Hotel was on beach in Treasure Island. John's Pass is on Madeira Beach which was a 3 min car ride away. Aquarium was about 30 mins drive away.
Room was perfect. Just enough space and pool was outside our door. Beach was behind us.

Retro RewindPosted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: Liked the retro feel and location on beach
Cons: Rooms could stand some maintenance and minor upgrades. Definitely needs, at the very least, an ice machine.
Location: Go to Sloppy Joes at The Bilmar and enjoy a fun happy hour and great views.
Nice older hotel amongst similar hotels of about the same age. I am guessing mid 50's or so. Shuffleboard courts behind do not look like they'd been used in some time, but condition of pool was great. Room was nice, could have stood a little maintenance, but overall not bad. Motel is on the beach, but actually about a 1/4 mile from the ocean...super wide beach at this location. No hotel staff after 5pm was a little odd and no ice machine/soda machine was even odder.

Love this place, my hidden gem.Posted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I live locally about 4 miles from this motel and really had never heard of it before...what a hidden gem. Great price for being in the heart of the beach area. I had my best friend visiting from Michigan and I booked a room for 3 days. This is an older type motel but it is very clean and quiet. If you have pets no problem, no hassles, no extra fees. If you are looking for complete luxury this place may not be for you, however if you are looking for some fun at a great price, an awesome pool and on the beach as well....you will love it. We stayed in a studio unit and it was perfect for my best friend and I catching up on some girl time. We are in our 50's now......we have been friends for 35 yrs. My son ended up coming out to visit and he got a 1 bedroom unit that connected to our studio.....the one bedroom is very big. I totally loved the place. I tried booking for JULY 4th weekend for 2014 and they are already filled up. RANDY (one of the managers is awesome) and if they have a cancellation for the 4th next year I will be there.

Overall, you can't beat the price for a room ON THE BEACH. The hotel is definitely dated, but that was okay for us. The people were nice. It had a full kitchen and was clean. The beds were a little hard but not unbearable. Maid service is available but you have to request it. They will exchange your dirty towels for clean ones in the lobby. The only complaint I had is that it took forever for to get hot water into our room. We were on the end room so I'm thinking that the hot water tank was at the front of the motel? Note: As noted above, this motel is on the beach but be prepared for a good walk to the water.
