Pros: Views wonderful, comfortable, beautiful pool
Location: Frenchy's, grocery store and laundry just a few steps
After a long day in the airport of delays it was nice to stay in a place that was just like home. Right across from the beach. Will coming back next year.

Throwback surprisePosted Jul 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
We needed a one night stay on our way to an island destination. Picked Camelot because of its perfect location, price, and old art deco style. The surprise was: expected old and outdated rooms, but everything was like new and very well maintained. Absolutely recommend this and will return!

We loved that this hotel is right next to the awesome public beach. The kitchenette was also a plus although we did not end up using it much. However, thes stuff did not come to clean the room/bathroom even once (when we wasked them, they said they do this only once every 7 days)! We were asked to throw away our trash, to change towels, etc. The bathroom was quite unpleasant. Overall, grouse! The swimming pool was just ok. The room was a decent size and looked fine when we came in at first.

DisappointmentPosted Nov 13, 2012 on Hotels.com
Felt very uncomfortable in the neighborhood hotel is located in. Will not stay there again. I urge anyone who contemplates staying here look at it on Google Earth before booking! I do not feel that I should take out my own trash and that there should be a receptionist 24 hours for late check in.

Not safe at nightPosted Nov 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
I did not feel safe, so I left and found another hotel. When I arrived in the evening, there was little if any lighting and the front gate which is right on sidewalk was unlocked. I walked around the small pool only to find the office closed; no one on the property and no security. I had to call a number to get a combination to a lock box. There also were young adults drinking on the street, and by the side of the building. No safe parking.

Nice for a family extended stayPosted Aug 28, 2012
Pros: location, and relaxing in pool area at night
Location: Very good location! Close to restaurants & shops! Park next door, laundry mat next door, gas station too.
The location is great. Hotel staff is wonderful. The room when we got there, not too clean. It was dirty..shower curtain has mold, blankets had dog hair, kitchen countertops/fridge didn't look like it had been cleaned. But, after we talked to the staff at desk, they went right in our room & cleaned it up. The pool area is small, but cozy. There aren't many rooms available at this hotel, so the pool was never very busy. Great to relax to at night, sit by the pool with some coffee. The roof top has a nice grill/patio area, with bar stools, chairs, etc!! Didn't realize it was there till the day we left. But it looks nice to have a cookout, sunbath, chill out, etc. Easy to find, get into, and great for an extended stay. We were here 5 days! Laundry mat right next door. No gym, but there is a gym down the street. Restaurants & shops within walking distance. May think about staying here again! Would get the double room next time though!
Nice hotel but across street from beachPosted Jul 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
Suite was very nice....but all rooms faced the pool and it was very noisy at all hours. Close to 2restaurants on the beach and has small grocery next door, very convinent.

Good Clean Room, Great LocationPosted Jul 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
The Camelot is a great choice for it's location to the beach and other Clearwater attractions. Anything you need is in easy walking distance. We loved the included parking spot adjacent to the building. You're not going to find a lot of big hotel amenities - no fitness center or on-site restaurant, etc. but the rooms are cool, clean and comfortable. The pool was also clean and well maintained. The after-hours check-in process worked like a charm, and every time we saw Vicky she asked how everything was and if there was anything we needed. So this isn't a luxury spot, but for me and my daughter (7) it had everything we needed. And it was surprisingly quiet for the central location. And the room had a full kitchen so we saved a ton of money by keeping our own snacks and making our own meals. Overall a great value, can't beat the location.
