Excellent hotel, excellent service.Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: We loved the pool and the spacious room and excellent service.
Cons: The air conditioning could be turned to a higher temperature.
Location: We found some nice sea shells at Sand Key Park, visited Fort de Soto Park and the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very spacious with a sitting area, small refrigerator and microwave, a comfortable bed and private balcony. The pool was beautiful and there were lots of chairs on the deck, many of which were in the shade. Next door to the hotel there was a boardwalk with shops and restaurants. Sand key park with beach access was about two blocks away. The hotel also provided a shuttle service to the beach. All of the hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. I only have one small complaint about the hotel. The public areas were uncomfortably cold. Our only other complaint about the vacation was that the traffic was really terrible every afternoon and evening. It could be just because we were there on Memorial Day weekend. It took us about an hour to go one mile on Gulf Blvd on our way back to the hotel. After that we didn't try to drive anywhere in the afternoon and evening. We walked over to Clearwater Beach. It was about two miles and that way we didn't have to find a parking spot, which would have been very difficult.

Nice hotel- staff very friendly and obliging.Posted Apr 25, 2015
Good public areas but rooms badly in need of refurbishment. The breakfast was good and again staff very obliging. The location of the hotel also very good. Overall a good choice but be prepared for the very much outdated rooms.

GREAT HOTEL!Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Pool and surroundings fantastic.
Cons: Bathrooms require a refit.
Location: Great restaurants/shops nearby. Watersports available. Not far to Clearwater either to drive or by trolley bus.
Quiet location, although attractive boardwalk close by with a variety of restaurants and shops. Fantastic food at local Spanish/Cuban restaurant 'Columbia' and great breakfasts at Maggie Mae's. Need to queue, worth the wait. Lunches at Kokomos (hotel) next to the pool were delicious also. All rooms overlook the bay, whilst the beach at Sandkey is across a road. Watersports offered next to the hotel, eg. Jet skiing. If you are lucky you may sight a dolphin or two! Short stroll. The hotel offer a transfer free to the beach on a golf cart. Approx. 1-2 miles into Clearwater itself. Trolley bus picks up every half an hour. Worth a visits as street performers and stalls along Pier 60. Rooms are a generous size, although tired looking. Especially the bathrooms. Would be great if they offered free Wi-Fi in the rooms. We last visited 6.5 years ago, the room decoration was unchanged from memory. Pool, waterfalls and hot tub were beautiful. My children of 5 and 11 loved them! Much better than the Sheraton opposite.

Very old furniture; no worth that pricePosted Apr 12, 2015
Unbelievable old furniture and very used equipment. Very noisy - I never had such a bad experience for that price. Recently I stayed in a hotel in Eastern Europe - same level of quality, but 10 % of the price.

Hello from Clearwater Beach, I'm terribly sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at the Marriott Suites on Sand Key. As the Assistant General Manager of the hotel, it troubles me to hear when people leave our establishment feeling as though they did not have a tremendous experience. We are looking forward to a renovation in the next few years so I hope this news will hopefully change your mind to a potential future visit. If I can be of any assistance in the future, please let me know. Sincerely, Jessica Carlson Assistant General Manager Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key

Beautiful settingPosted Apr 9, 2015
Although the rooms were a little dated, they were all suites, water/pool views and a refurbished lobby and pool area. Pool bar and good food and drinks. High level of service from all areas. Short drive to Clearwater beach. Highly recommend !

Lousy Hotel for the price! Would NEVER RECOMMEND!Posted Apr 7, 2015
Cons: Service, staff, pricing,
Very disappointed! Was Dirty! Staff was not friendly at all! Tried to charge a 111.00 dinner to my credit card which we did not eat. We paid cash for our one time meal 4 teenage boys on spring break one was my Grandson I stayed with them they paid individually for their meal. We ate at the bar not in the restaurant they were in their swimming trunks and no shirt but yet they tried charging me a meal on my credit card further more your not even allowed to sit in the restaurant with no shirt and wet swimming trunks. The only thing that I put on my credit card was the room one night only was 390.00 way over priced very disgusting. I would never stay at another Marriott hotel!!! My Grandson and his 3 friends were very disappointed with the hotel plus seeing me so upset did not make their spring break very pleasant. I will never recommend Marriott hotel in Clearwater Flato anyone ever. They are a rip off!!!! I am contacting Better Business bureau also!!!

Very RelaxingPosted Mar 22, 2015
My family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. My kids had a great time at the pool and really enjoyed the kids activity center. It was very easy to get to the beach when we wanted to go there. The only thing that went wrong with our stay was that not all the elevators were working throughout the week. We will be back next over spring break.

Rough start; great finish to our vacationPosted Mar 17, 2015
We had a rough start. Our arrival was at midnight. We were given a room with two beds instead of one, as we had requested. The view from the balcony was partially blocked by a palm tree. We ordered pizza at the pizza delivery place they suggested, and were put on hold for at least 10 minutes so we gave up and went to bed. That said, the staff worked very hard to make the rest of our stay fabulous. We were moved the next morning to the 10th floor. We had a king-sized bed, a gorgeous view of the beach, free drinks poolside and breakfast. We couldn't have been more delighted! The pool was fabulous, the beach was a short walk away, and dinner at their steakhouse was great!
