Good location if you want to be close to the beach

Posted May 2, 2015
Pros: Location and clean rooms. Good parking.
Cons: Be more clear about room locations and views. If I ever go there again I'll call the hotel directly and make sure the room I want is available.
Location: The Beach.
Checked in to find out they had given us the wrong room. Booked partial beach view and we were facing east towards the bay. Got room switched to partial beach view. There was a huge construction crane blocking our view. Luckely they removed it the second day of our stay. We ate at the Spinners restaurant. Good view and food. There was a big group at the bar from a wedding party that was very noisy. Reminded me of a Sportsbar with lots of drunk and loud patrons. Not exactly the upscale and intimate ambiance I was expecting. There were some outside ammenities that we could not use because of a wedding.

Great location!

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: I liked everything about the hotel, location, rooms, staff, restaurants and price.
Location: Lots of restaurants close by, shops and of course the beach right outside the hotel.
This hotel is located right on the beach. Rooms were very nice and we had a great view from our balcony. Clean and well maintained hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again!

Not bad at all.

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, great access to beach, clean room
Cons: The area where the wedding parties enter onto the beach seems to be an issue. It was always congested during the weddings. Inconvenient for all.
Location: Beautiful beach but the $25 cabanas were uncomfortable and in terrible condition. Decent restaurants up and down the strip.
We always stay at the Island Grand but didn't have the kids so we decided to give this a try. It was a decent place to stay. The pool is nice (although there is no hot tub). Access to the beach is great. There is not a resort fee so you pay $25 per day for a cabana. We did not eat at Spinners because we heard from several guests that the food was not very good but we did try Bongos which is right on the beach. The drinks were fine and the food was good. The atmosphere was great - live band, view of the ocean, etc. The bed was very comfortable and we had a decent view of the city and the beach. It ended up being cheaper than Island Grand but if you want the amenities of a resort, do not stay at this hotel. The service was okay but nothing like staying at Island Grand. If you just want a decent place to stay with access to the beach, this hotel is great. There are lots of places nearby to eat and a grocery store less than a quarter of a mile down the road. More importantly, there is an enormous liquor store right across the street.

The location alone is incredible, white powder sand beaches, clear water. Happy with the room got a great rate. Appreciate the free wifi, free parking and no resort fees. Loved eating at bongos and spinners! This place screams vacation! Will come back!

Beach wedding

Posted Apr 21, 2015
I found this hotel on Expedia booking six months in advance for a beach wedding. I was blown away by the property in which the hotel sat on. Scenic views, awesome nightlife, fantastic food (primarily seafood), superb cocktails and the friendliest staff ever. In fact, they were so nice that I am contemplating on quitting my job and moving to St. Pete beach. It was well worth the money and I will certainly return again for a little R&R.

Wonderful staff, facilities could use upgrading

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Location, Bongos, staff. Walk to other restaurants. Great views, comfortable spacious rooms.
Cons: We picked for accessibility to Tropicana Field, but TV stations do not include Rays broadcast. Towels are abundant, but could use a higher quality.
Location: Love the beach bar, and walking to stores and restaurants nearby.
This was clearly built as a top of the line kind of place. It has some excellent details, like plenty of hooks in the bathroom, and drawer and closet space that feels expansive, even in the standard room. The balconies are the most private we have experienced, and the location is superb. However, the furnishings are slightly outdated, and the tiled floors are squishy from humidity. Staff is overwhelmingly hospitable, from check-in (thanks, Cindy) to bartenders to wait staff at the pool. Even cleaning people were friendly and accommodating.

Staff was very friendly. Very quiet hotel. Size of hotel makes it easy to go to pool or pool bar without big crowds.
