Grand plaza vacation

Posted Sep 17, 2014
We went from 9/13-9/15. The rooms were very nice for the price. The breakfast buffet is 11.99 and had a large variety. Bats taxi is your best bet. It will run you 5.00 to get to shopping center with grocery store and 54.00 to get to Tampa airport. The elevators can be slow so get a room closer to the ground level. Very close to beach.. The water is great and you can rent a cabana for 25.00 or 15.00 for shorter time. The staff was very friendly. I would give it a try again.

Beach paradise

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: everything!
Cons: build a spa tub!
Location: Great beach access, jet skiing, para-sailing, live music in beach bar.
This was our second stay at this hotel and every bit as nice as the first. We hope to return next year!

Paradise, but without the Price Tag

Posted Sep 16, 2014
The Grand Plaza is a superb hotel, offering everything you need for a great holiday. Its location on Gulf Blvd, right on the sandy beach and about 30 minutes by car from Tampa International Airport is perfect, close to all usual amenities with an IHOP virtually opposite! Free parking and WIFI proved extremely useful. The hotel staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. They were professional in the service they provided and for that, we are grateful. The Bongos Beach Bar located at the hotel offered live music and great food also. It felt like the best of a Caribbean holiday, but with all the things we love about the USA not too far distant.

On the Beach

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: On the beach, restaurants on premises, no hidden fees, rooms clean, staff friendly, good size clean pool, food and drink service at pool, computers.
Cons: No wake-up call when requested, phones out of service for two days, noise due to electrical upgrading, decor dated, beds could be more comfortable.
Location: On the beach, close to grocery store and restaurants, canopy rentals on beach, rented a vehicle so was able to drive to Ellenton Outlet Mall and Tampa
A week's stay with a balcony overlooking the beach, temperatures were low 90's usually with thunder storm for one to two hours later in the day/early evening. Relaxed around the pool and on the beach. Did some shopping.

Vacation in Florida

Pros: Location, Spinner's restaurant, beach access, friendly staff.
Cons: Internet reliability, slow, crashes, A/C condensation from room above on ext. balcony floor
Location: beach,
pleasant environment, convenient ocean access, Spinner's restaurant is the cherry on any cake. Free internet needs upgrade, to slow, and kept crashing.
