“Once in a life time”

Hotel was on the beach which was what we wanted. The front desk person was having a bad day when we checked in and checked out. The room overlooked the gulf with a beatiful view. But was right over the tiki bar so very noisy. The walk ways are very noisy. Could hear every person who walked by our door. No place to eat within walking distance. But they again we were on the beach and the gulf was beautiful. Room was clean beds were small for doubles. Our room must have been an older one, the pictures looked alot better than they did in person.

“Good Time!!”

We go over to about 20 Rays baseball games a year. We live about 60 miles from the Trop and stay in St Pete about 3-5 times a year after the game and to enjoy the beach. This was our first stay and we were plesently surprised! We have stayed at the Don Cesar several times and it is a fantatic hotel but the view was the same (beautiful gulf beaches) and the room rate was about 1/2!! Rick at the Tiki bar is a great guy. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back GO RAYS!!!

“Great value on the beach!”

Great value. Older hotel, but nothing wrong with the rooms, location, or daily service. The room had full-sized fridge, two burner stove, microwave, and full set of plates, dinner ware, pots, pans, and extras. The room staff was friendly. My only complaint is, in three interactions with the desk staff, they never seemed happy or pleasant at all. It seemed to be a bother to have a customer. I'd still go back and hope to be surprised by a friendlier desk staff.

Area recommendations

There's a great Publix 1/2 mile away. Save money, and use the grills at the hotel and kitchen in your room!

“Accomodating with Beatiful views”

It's an older hotel without a whole lot of bells and whistles, but it was very accomodating and comfortable. Most of the rooms have balconies that face the beatiful views of the beach and ocean which is just a few steps away. They have a "Tiki" bar which was extremely convenient. I would go back!

Outdoors or beach

We went on the Island Boat Adventure catermaran boat trip (Calypso Cat) which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend booking this outfit.

“Was very impressed”

I have not stayed at a Holiday Inn in some time so was not sure what to expect, especially being on the beach but when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprized! The room was beautifully decorated, nice, clean and for the price a real value! Especially compared to our friends that stayed at Hilton down the road for 3 x the price and didnt even get a balcony. All the amenties were kept up and clean and enjoyed that we could just stay there and never leave if that had been our choice. We definetly will return!

Area recommendations

Although this Hotel is about 1 mile down the road from where all the restuarants, amusement park. I actually preferred it. Able to sleep at night without a lot of noise. Beach was nice with just enough folks. Not so crowed that you could not enjoy yourself. Then in the evening if you wanted to go to the amusement park was not so far away that you literally could do a nice walk or drive.

“It was OK for the price.”

The positives were that our room had a small kitchen with a full refrigerator. The property had some nice amenties as well and furnished beach towels and toys for the kids. The negatives were the room was small and the tub did not drain well. Most of the time the staff was friendly and helpful, other times not so much.

Fort Desoto beach - beautiful #1 beach in America. Catch a Tampa Bay Rays game. St. John's Pass is a great place to buy freshly caught seafood.

“Loved It!”

“Best Resort on the Beach”

I recommend the Island Inn Resort as one o f the best places Ive ever stayed! The rates are reasonable for what you receive for your money!
