Great pool and short walk from the pool to beach.

My family had a great time in St Pete beach and at the Don Cesar. Our room was not ready upon arrival on Sunday afternoon at 3:30. We were told our room would be ready by 4 but we had to wait until 4:45. However, we were given drink vouchers ($24 value) to compensate. My 5 year old enjoyed the 3 hour free kids club daily and the staff at the kids club were so nice! The pool area was awesome and a close walk to the beach. The pool bar menu had a great Cuban sandwich but the fish wasn't great. My daughter is already asking if we can come back next year for spring break.

Beautiful hotel and gorgeous beach

Only thing I was disappointed in was that we had to pay for chairs and umbrellas on beach since it was not included in resort fee. I was it aware of that.

Grounds were very nice, staff was very helpful and courteous and there was plenty to do for the whole family.

Great Resort

loved the staff. Loved that I could use my hotel keycard as credit in all the resort shops and restaurants. Beach and pools were lovely.

Great close getaway

We stay at the Don 1-2 times a year and are usually without complaint. The Maritana Grill is our favorite restaurant without question. This time though we were a bit disappointed. The food was not up to its usual standard. I had the diver scallops and I didn't even finish it. My husband's Pompano was average. Very surprising for the Maritana.

Pros: the food and the employees were very helpful and went out of their way all the time
Location: excellent location, beautiful beach, lots to do
food was excellent and priced fairly, better than most nearby restaurants. Will definitely go back again.

Old Florida at its best!

Pros: We loved the history of the hotel and so delighted that years ago a very wonderful lady helped preserve it! It is in amazing shape!
Location: Very lovely and special location. You are totally surrounded by water. There are shops, grocery, and a lot of restaurants of all types.
I wanted a nice getaway for my husband's birthday. I picked Lowe's Don CeSar hotel since we had never stayed in that part of Florida and it wasn't too far from home. When we crossed the bridge and we saw this huge pink hotel sticking up in view, I just laughed out loud! I had no idea it would be so easy to spot and my husband didn't have a clue where we were going! From the time we pulled up in front of the hotel until we left, the staff were absolutely fantastic! Warm, friendly, helpful for our entire stay. We only ate breakfast in the hotel, but the food was excellent and so nice to sit outside to enjoy our meal. The beach is drop dead gorgeous! We did have a junior suite. It was very nice, just smaller than I thought it might be? It really looked more like a normal size room. Obviously, it is an old historical hotel, so the rooms are probably just smaller than some of the newer hotels. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent Hotel on the Beach

Pros: The staff, and the beauty of the hotel.
Cons: The beds are double beds. Queens size beds would have been preferable.
Location: The location is excellent; the hotel is located on the beach, and walking distance to shops, and restaurants.
The hotel and staff are excellent. Our family of four stayed in the hotel for four days, and at all times, we found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Special mention goes out to Lisa in the restaurant, and Andrew on the beach.

Welcoming hotel

We love this hotel, even though it's pretty expensive. Love location, love the piano cocktail area ! Only complaint is that we have a $25 a day resort fee, but still have to rent beach chairs? Seems a bit much.
