Pros: I liked the size of the rooms and the beds were very comfortable. It was convenient to have the stocked kitchenette area.
Cons: The cleanliness of the tub walls could be improved.
Location: Great location, walking distance to everything along the beach, tons to do.
We had a great visit to Clearwater Beach, staying at the Pelican Pointe. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. Travelling with 3 children it was affordable with a great location. Loved that the balconies overlooked the pool area which was always kept clean. The rooms were clean and comfortable and a nice size.

Basic beach side hotel/motel. Good pool amazingly nice staff that let us use the pool and towels before our room was ready for check in. Room was spacious, kitchenette was clean, a few little bugs crawling around the bathroom counter but they didn't bother us. Had ice machine and washer/dryer (coin operated) - we made good use of both! The best part was the two minute walk to the beautiful white sand beach and the construction accross the street didn't bother us one bit. We weren't looking for anything fancy just a basic beach side hotel and that's exactly what we got!

Schönes Hotel, Strandnah

Posted Apr 12, 2015

It's ok

Posted Apr 3, 2015
I was a little iffy on this hotel when I pulled up (looked a little run down). There are not many parking spots available, but I was lucky enough to get one. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful, which was appreciated. The room was eh-but clean. It had a fridge, toaster, coffee pot and microwave which was nice, but I did have to flip the breaker (located in the kitchen) everytime I tried to use the microwave and coffee pot at the same time. Some dishes and silverware were also provided which was great! The pool was ok, they did have some pool toys my daughter could use which was fun. Now it was pretty noisy-during the day there is a lot of construction noise as they are building a huge hotel right across the street, and at night you can hear everything going on outside (walls must be thin). One positive is that you can walk to everything from this location, so once you get a parking place you never have to leave. My 9 year-old daughter and I easily walked to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The beach is right across the street which is awesome. So overall, you probably get what you pay for. The bigger hotels would offer nicer accommodations I'm sure, and probably nicer amenities, but for a much lower price, I was pretty satisfied overall.

Neat and Clean Hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Very clean and updated with a friendly staff.
Cons: It seemed a little overpriced for being off the beach with a street view, however the Clearwater Beach are is expensive in general.
Location: Location is good for walking the town and it's an easy walk to the beach.
Our stay at Pelican Pointe was only one night as we passed through Clearwater Beach. The hotel was very well kept for an older place. It looked newly painted and our room was very updated, clean, and nicely decorated. The pool area is nice and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were there peak season and the Clearwater Beach area is extremely busy and pricey at this time. Overall, we were pleased with this hotel.

Good except for noise

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Rooms could be cleaned more regularly.
Location: Great beach a few minutes walk away. Sand Key Park about a five minute drive. Many good Restaurants within walking distance.
Mid price hotel yields mid price experience. No view but conveniently located. Good family oriented pool. Kitchen utensils sparce. If you need large spoons, bring your own. Huge hotel being built between us and the shoreline provided lots of noise, but if you like watching pros at work this is the best show in town.

Great location. Clean.

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, and items supplied to us to use beach towels, coffee, kitchenette, etc.
Cons: Security
Location: In walking distance to the beach, shopping, restaurants and town.
We were there during spring break. Very loud teenagers till 3:30 am. No staff on call to help. The second night I found a phone number to call if the 12 midnight curfew for noise isn't being followed. The second night I tried to call at 2:30 am because of noise from adults upstairs. I got an answering machine, left a message and the noise continued till about 3:45 am. I spoke to a staff member the next morning upon leaving and her answer was "It is spring break" I agreed but there is a curfew at midnight and no staff member to assist. She said security is suppose to answer the phone. It's not suppose to go to voice mail. Well that didn't happen. She apologized.
