Pelican Pointe

I only stay one day/night...it was an excellent experience. It was near the beach.

The hotel is within walking distance to the beach, shops, and pier. The staff at the front desk was kind and helpful. Continental breakfast was included between 7 and 10. Pool towels were available daily. Room service daily. Parking was limited to one vehicle per room. We enjoyed our stay.

Close to the beach, Pelican pointe is a very good choice for your staying during your vacation. The staff is very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and is in a very good location next to the beach.

Staff is fine. Needed to shoulder the door open. Bed was awful. Pool reminded me of the old "ring around the tub" commercials and water was occasionally cloudy. Handrails in stairs and gates were always sticky and probably haven't been cleaned in who knows how long. Meager choices at breakfast bar; out of coffee both days. I should've spent more than a hundred bucks a night to get into a nicer place.

the hotel is in very good condition for its age. we found no glaring problems and were satisfied with the room and service provided.. we would stay here again.

We stayed here 5 days last week, were very pleased, esp. for the price. This is not the Ritz or a big-chain hotel; there is no spa or restaurant. But it is freshly painted, with crown molding in the rooms; bathrooms were completely remodeled this year or last at the earliest. New tub, shower tiles, vanity and sink; no mildew in the grout (which I have encountered in much more expensive hotels). These people are NUTS about cleanliness. Fresh towels every day, comfortable bed, full cable TV and DVD player for kids, heavy-duty vacuum to get up all the sand. Hotel is across the street from a beautiful public beach, so no parking problems at the beach. There is a decent-sized pool (larger than many we saw in Clearwater). Trolley or short drive or walk will take you to many restaurants, from beach cabanas to excellent fine dining. 30 minutes from Tampa (art museum, Ybor city, zoo, etc) if you get too sunburned! Comfortable for a family or couple, away from the noisier restaurant/bars. Would highly recommend it for an expensive but well-maintained property. Staff very helpful.

We stayed here for a wedding that was being held at a nearby hotel and could not have made a better choice. They let us check in very early and were extremely accommodating throughout our stay. Room was very clean and the decor was fun and beachy.

The shower curtains had mold on them and there was also mold around the tub.

We were only staying at this hotel one night because we were vacationing in Florida and, since we were flying out of Tampa the next day and we had gotten tickets to see the Yankees play the Rays that night, we thought it would be nice to stay closer to the airport/stadium. The first impression of the hotel was that of a seedy motel. But it looks like they are in the process of renovating because the rooms were better than the outside. Yes, it was clean and offered many amenities. However, this was not a place I would recommend across the street from Clearwater Beach.

Air conditioning did not work properly. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
