“good stopover hotel”

nice hotel to stay for one or two nights. roomy and clean. a bit outdated. served the purpose we needed, which was going to the beach and visiting friend in tampa. i was concerned with the areas in tampa and wasn't familiar with the safe and unsafe neighborhoods. clearwater was a good choice. only negative was the amount of road construction.

Area recommendations
north tampa, clearwater beach. ate at the rumba on rt. 19 going toward the beach. the food was very good at a reasonable price. atmosphere is very nice. outdoor and indoor seating with tropical feel.
When to go
if you go during spring break and spring training -be prepared for lots of traffic. a 1/2 hr. trip to the beach took over an hour.

“Convienent to Brighthouse Field”

The hotel was as expected. A little nicer than the strip motels, not as nice as the big boys. The room was very clean, with a kitchenette (unexpected) with a view of the highway. The pool and hot tub were nice, we were the only ones utilizing it, but thats ok. The complemetary breakfast was typical, cereals, pastries, waffle maker. The dining area is in the corner/backside of the lobby, rather small, seating for maybe 20. A separate room, out of the lobby would have been nicer. Overall, for a place to crash while exploring the area and going to Phillies games, it was perfectlly acceptable.

“Good Hotel....minor problems kept from scoring all 5's”

Good hotel...had minor probl;em with AC which was fixed quickly. Good location for spring training games.
