Lovely Hotel, Great Location on the Beach

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Cons: Honestly, This hotel was just perfect for us. If I was to offer any suggestions, it would be to put a beautiful organic garden on the lower roof.
Location: Great location on the beach and next to a bridge that you can cross over by foot to watch a spectacular sunset and cross over to a more restaurants
We had a 3 night get away and stayed at the Sheraton Sand Keys on Clear Water Beach. We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff starting with the charming woman at the Reception Desk. We enjoyed the GYM on the ninth floor that had new equipment, head phones and a beautiful view. The Gift Shop and Snack Shop had a nice variety and the woman in both stores again were charming and helpful. We enjoyed the Italian restaurants that were recommended by the hotel such as Stefanos and our very favorite Cesares. We have stayed at this very hotel twice now and are planning our return during the holidays.

It is our goal to effectively meet the expectations of our guests and provide excellent customer service. It is gratifying to read that your experience here with us was very positive. I am pleased that you enjoyed Sheraton Fitness; the view is beautiful. Thank you for recognizing our associates. They are genuinely friendly and caring. Walking the bridge is a breathtaking view. It is 2.0 miles from the Sheraton to Clearwater. How perfect that you were able to see one of our beautiful sunsets. There are many different restaurant venues to experience from. There is everything from the freshest seafood to char-grilled steaks, pastas, pizza and the list goes on. We are always open to solutions that will beautify our property. Thank you for your roof top garden suggestion. We will look forward to your next visit.

I am delighted you found our resort to be an oasis from the everyday busy life we all seem to live. “Welcome to Our Island.” We do hope you will plan another visit. Our associates are wonderful; they are so laid back and genuine, and it's clear that providing an amazing experience is their primary objective.

The profile of the beaches change from day to day. Two things determine the size of sand on beaches: the energy (height) of the waves, and the size of the material furnished to the beach. Other things being equal, the higher the average waves on a beach, the coarser the sand. Our wide beach is due to the Jetty on the waterway to the north of Sand Key Park. Arrangements can be made if someone needs assistance to the water’s edge. I do apologize that we were unable to impress you.

Relaxing Hotel

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: It was really nice that the pool had noodles and other pool toys for the kids to play with. The grounds were kept really nice.
Cons: You could tell the room hadn't been vacuumed around the edges for some time. The bathroom door was also dirty on the inside.
Location: The location is great with restaurants and shops a close drive away.
When we checked in the front desk clerk upgraded our room to an ocean and pool view because it was available. I thought that was nice. The room was comfortable. Being picky, they did charge $5 a night for a crib that most hotels provide for free now. That charge didn't include a blanket for the crib either. It also was a bit of a walk to the gulf with wasn't easy lugging two small children and all the stuff for day. The beach was really nice though.

It is always genuinely satisfying for our associates to be able to do something extra for our guest. We want to make your experience memorable. I hope you enjoyed the view and got to enjoy a beautiful sunset. I apologize for the charge for the crib. We do not charge a resort fee which would include the crib, and we only charge for the amenities our guest request. I do hope you called for a blanket … there would be no charge for that. I am certain that not bringing one was an oversight by the associate who delivered it. Yes, the walk to the beach is a project when you have small children. Sand Key and Clearwater are known for their exceptionally beautiful but wide beaches. It was disappointing to read your comments regarding the cleanliness of the room. We have shared them with the Director of Housekeeping. I can assure you it will be addressed. We do hope there is another visit planned in the future.

Nice hotel, close to beach. Family friendly.

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Location. The hotel was right on the beach and very close to Clearwater, which provided some calm and quiet.
Cons: Keeping the restaurants open for all meals and every day would be a big improvement.
Overall, the hotel is good. However, the pool is small and the bathrooms are tiny. There is one pool for everyone, which can be troublesome over a holiday weekend. We preferred to stay at the beach than at the pool for most of the weekend. The hotel's private beach is great - white sand, blue clear water. Water activities nearby, with kayaking, jetskis and paddle boards. Overall, the hotel seemed to cater to families and there were a lot of kids. The actual room size is spacious and the beds are comfortable. Very clean. The restaurants in the hotel aren't always open. We were there for Memorial Day weekend and on Memorial Day (Monday) 3 out of 4 restaurants were closed during the day. Staff was fine. The woman who checked us in wasn't very friendly but the woman who checked us out was very friendly. I'm used to SPG staff who's much more friendly

Having you enjoy a peaceful, relaxing, experience is our goal. We enjoy sharing the perfect setting to make new memories. Comfortable “Sweet Sleeper” beds, beautiful beaches, fun activities … the newest is beach tennis. We are always looking for solutions to enlarge the bathroom size, unfortunately it would take away the size of the sleeping room. Customer care is amongst our highest priorities; I sincerely apologize that you were not treated with the warm and caring attitude our associates are known to give upon arrival. It is gratifying that the associate who checked you out was a better example. I am delighted you found our resort to be an oasis from, although close enough to, the busy Clearwater beach area. The food and beverage outlets are open according to occupancy. I have shared your comments with our Executive Chef.

It is very satisfying to hear that your expectations were fulfilled during your stay. Our associates truly care and do their best to ensure that you enjoy your time with us. Our beach is quiet, serene and relaxing. The Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed is found in each of our guest rooms and is comprised of luxurious sheets, a deluxe duvet, a selection of feather down and hypoallergenic pillows, and a custom mattress. We are putting refrigerators in each room and many of the rooms already have them. The rest will be installed when occupancy allows. We hope to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Nice hotel, nice pool bar, bad staff service

Posted May 22, 2014
When I arrive front desk guy gave us a first level room with garage door just because they said my card rewards was expired ??? I paid $300 per night for a parking garage view??? I requested a moved and they did it after 4 hours. The hotel is really nice, 5 restaurants ,overnight bar, not to close to the beach. Also, racial profiling; they requested my key for towels and other benefits that they didn't asked to white people.

I can assure you we do not participate in any racial profiling here at the Sheraton Sand Key. I do apologize that you perceived it to be so. It is a Sheraton Sand Key procedure to request your room card for towels and other benefits. It is for your security and to keep non guests from using the amenities you have paid for in the cost of your room. There could be a number of reasons the guest ahead of you did not show their room key. Many guests come often and stay awhile which forms a bond with certain associates. The associate would already know who that guest is and their room number due to frequent interaction. You can check out any pertinent information you might need when next planning to use your points @ Redeem Starpoints - Starwood Hotels & Resorts. It was unfortunate that the room view was not what you anticipated. I was pleased that you were moved in a timely manner. This time of year we are usually at 100% occupancy and it is difficult to reassign your room. I have addressed your concerns and feel confident you would not experiences these situations in a future stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort

Not Good Value

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: Parking
Cons: Bathrooms
Location: Pier Sixty
For a four star Sheraton resort, you expect more. The room is OK, but the bathroom is really tiny. Charged me 3 bucks for the water bottle in the room! Will not recommend to anyone.
