Lots of Potential. No Pazzazz

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Its vintage-ness. The place has great 'bones'.
Cons: Everything from the paint, to the carpet, to the furnishings...
Location: The location of this hotel is perfect for a visit to downtown St. Pete with its quaint, up-scale shops and fabulous restaurants.
While downtown St. Pete is getting a total face lift, this little jewel of a hotel remains uncut or polished. So much potential, but no pizzazz. Old, outdated furnishings and fabrics; the drapes in our room were coming off their hangings; the old window ac unit, set on max, wouldn't cool the room; and the continental breakfast consisted of store-bought microwaved sausage patties and some kind of re-heated 'egg omelets'... so the sign said. Shame. This place and it's perfect location could be fantastic!

Pros: location, stuff, rooms.
Cons: breakfast
Location: location is ideal-close to shore, nice food, stores, highways.
breakfast could be better, all other things are very good for the price you pay

Hotel in downtown

Posted Jul 4, 2014
The facilities were a little dated. A huge plus was it was within walking distance of the concert venue & restaurants. Fine hotel for a one or two night stay

My wife and I were very pleased with the nearness of the hotel to where we had to go. It was comfortable and we enjoyed the stay. We did hear the constant dripping of an upstairs air conditioner on the air conditioner in our room. But we would come again.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Locations
Cons: Everything
Location: Free in-room Sauna.
Room would only cool down to 85 degrees. No room to switch to, no air conditioner window unit to replace the one that did not work. Management and staff told us the 3rd does not cool down in the summer. But, offered no resolution. Told us if we did not stay, we would still have to pay for the room because they were sold out.

Quaint hotel close to great nightlife

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Arrived and were greeted by a wonderful staff. Very friendly and helpful. Loved sitting on the front porch and have cocktails and people watching. We walked to dinner from our hotel and then walked to several bars. Lots of nightlife and lots of fun.

The Pier Hotel St Pete Fl

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Price/convenient
Location: Plenty to do in downtown St Pete. By the water and home to a major League baseball team where the stadium is 2 minutes away.
Nice hotel for being a historical building. The location came in handy as we were downtown for a wedding.

pricey area of town and you get what u pay for. comfortable facilities and a free breakfast with eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon! the only problem is the noisy low rent apt next door. free Nestle coffee machine 24/7 in the lobby.

Eclectic & able to walk to downtown

Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: proximity to downtown, friendly staff
Cons: assistance with luggage to upstairs?
Location: St. Pete downtown is fabulous with al fresco dining, shopping, and beautiful parks and museums.
great staff, lovely old building, one must appreciate old houses. No elevator, so lugging heavy luggage is no fun. However, the front porch and the proximity to wonderful St. Pete is a real plus. Accommodations were pleasing, except the bathroom was very tiny, but adequate when compared to places like NYC or Seattle.

Affordable and quaint

Clean, quaint, affordable hotel in downtown St Pete. The bathrooms are tiny so I wouldn't have been comfortable for a long stay.
