Hotel the Pier (its more like Motel)

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Location and building.
Cons: bath tub, sink, carpet, breakfast.
Location: location: left side from hotel is perfect, right from hotel (park) full of people using drugs and heavy drinkers
Breakfast-so so, location very good, room not so clean, sink, bath tub has to be replaced ASAP.

1920's restored hotel.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: The staff and location.
Cons: The bed and shower.
Location: As mentioned earlier, movies, museums shopping, and restaurants/
We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel but would probably have found the old-fashioned shower and tub less agreeable for a longer stay. It was a quiet environment with wonderful, helpful staff and close to the Chihuly museum, movies and shopping. We were directed to very good restaurants for the type of foods we wanted. It was overall a pleasant experience with a sense of the past around us.

Great boutique hotel near everything and cheap!

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Everything. The price mostly. The historical look. The food was great.
Cons: Maybe new carpeting in the room but honestly I think this hotel is underpriced. Give the staff a raise! Great job.
Location: I stayed here after going to the museums like the Salvador Dali museum. Definitely interested in going back and exploring more.
Very friendly staff. Beautiful historic building that has always been a hotel. You feel like you are stepping back in time. Very tall narrow doors and ceilings in room, seashell sinks, soft bed and cheapest rate for any hotel in this area near the museums and restaurants. Great place to stay if you don't want to drive back home. Five Guys Burgers and Fries open late just half a block from hotel. Nice area too. I need to add that for my very low 2-digit rate I got breakfast the next morning. A hot omelette, a huge sausage patty, juices, milk, coffee, muffins, breads, etc... all included. Parking is $4 with no in/out next door or you can purchase $6 parking pass from hotel that gives you unlimited entry/exit privileges. Met very nice people next morning from all over: Austin, Texas; Savannah, Georgia; Belfast, Northern Ireland who all were enjoying their stay. I would stay again.

Lots of Potential. No Pazzazz

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Its vintage-ness. The place has great 'bones'.
Cons: Everything from the paint, to the carpet, to the furnishings...
Location: The location of this hotel is perfect for a visit to downtown St. Pete with its quaint, up-scale shops and fabulous restaurants.
While downtown St. Pete is getting a total face lift, this little jewel of a hotel remains uncut or polished. So much potential, but no pizzazz. Old, outdated furnishings and fabrics; the drapes in our room were coming off their hangings; the old window ac unit, set on max, wouldn't cool the room; and the continental breakfast consisted of store-bought microwaved sausage patties and some kind of re-heated 'egg omelets'... so the sign said. Shame. This place and it's perfect location could be fantastic!

Hotel in downtown

Posted Jul 4, 2014
The facilities were a little dated. A huge plus was it was within walking distance of the concert venue & restaurants. Fine hotel for a one or two night stay

My wife and I were very pleased with the nearness of the hotel to where we had to go. It was comfortable and we enjoyed the stay. We did hear the constant dripping of an upstairs air conditioner on the air conditioner in our room. But we would come again.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Locations
Cons: Everything
Location: Free in-room Sauna.
Room would only cool down to 85 degrees. No room to switch to, no air conditioner window unit to replace the one that did not work. Management and staff told us the 3rd does not cool down in the summer. But, offered no resolution. Told us if we did not stay, we would still have to pay for the room because they were sold out.

Quaint hotel close to great nightlife

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Arrived and were greeted by a wonderful staff. Very friendly and helpful. Loved sitting on the front porch and have cocktails and people watching. We walked to dinner from our hotel and then walked to several bars. Lots of nightlife and lots of fun.
