“Great location and great rates.”

We live in Florida and spent two nights on Clearwater Beach to visit with friends from out-of-state who were staying at a luxury resort on the North end of the beach. We were on the 3rd floor at the Westmont and had a wonderful view of the Gulf. They paid three times what our rate was and were on the 6th floor. There view was of several high rise facilities across the street and were a little disappointed. We got a bargain and and a beautiful view. We would definitely stay at the Westmont again.

“Nice Beach Hotel”

My wife and I stayed at the Westmont (Ritz) for a 3 night, midweek break and we really enjoyed our stay. It is an older hotel, one of the oldest on the strip, and it does show, but it was clean and comfortable and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It is a 2 star, so we weren't expecting luxury (we would've booked into the Hilton for that) but for the value and the great location (5 mins walk to marina and pier) we were very pleased. We would've liked a few things -- better water pressure, a less exposed pool (it's right off the street and not very private) and a quieter A/C unit (it's the noisy wall mounted type that's found in all budget hotels -- notorious also for that Florida dampness) but everything we needed or used -- fridge, microwave, TV, Wifi, coffeemaker (bring your own if you want a cup before 9am) all worked well and we never had to contact the front office except to check in and out. If we ever visit the area again and were looking for something simple, affordable, and centrally located, we would certainly choose the Westmont.

This hotel is family owned, old, on the beach in the midst of all the larger hotel chains, restaurants, etc. By no means luxurious but very pleasant and well worth the price.

“Relaxing Week on The Beach”

Stayed at the Westmont (Ritz) from March 11 - 18, 2012. We arrived prior to check in and the owner did everything she could to get us into our room right away, no questions asked! She then gave us a quick explanation of Clearwater Beach with the help of a map showing us the location of restaurants, drugstores etc. The hotel is located across the street from the beach and is within walking distance of just about everything Clearwater Beach has to offer. The place is an older hotel but very well kept.If your expecting the Hyatt Regency you'll be disappointed. Everyone We spoke to on the property had been there before, many had been coming to this place for years and years, so the owners are doing something right! The room was spacious and clean, the beds could have been upgraded but were ok. We had a fridge, hotplate, coffee maker, microwave and small sink as well as dishes and utensiles. The pool was a bit small but with the Gulf just a few steps away we didnt spend a whole lot of time worrying! When we return to Clearwater Beach i'm sure we'll be checking in to the "Ritz" again! My best to the owners and staff.......Thanks for an enjoyable and memorable week on the beach.

If you're just looking for a place to crash, this is very close to the beach and Pier 60.

location was great,the beds were like park benches, it was like sleeping on box springs,the water pressure was very low when taking a shower.there was a gap about an inch between the front door and the floor .so anycritter or bugs can come on in, so i was not surprised we had these very small bugs that you could barely see on the tables and floor,and my last complaint was the remote control,the back was broken so the batterieswouldnt stay in placeand it kept needing to be reprogramed to work,if they would just put a piece of tape on it? this is a honest reveiw,so beware?
