Nice, clean, basic hotel rooms

Posted May 25, 2015
The bar was terrible- super watered down drinks and 18% tip was included in all drinks. This is not made clear, it's in tiny print on the bottom of on of the receipts. Nonetheless the bartender did not point this out when I tipped him extra 3 times! The beach is ok but not like the rest of Clearwater beach. It's tiny and surrounded with rocks. There are no ways on this part of the beach as its in a canal area

Nice hotel with own beach

Posted May 8, 2015
Pros: The pool and the beach
Cons: More staff at breakfast
Location: Clearwater beach is a busy place but the hotel is in a quiet area. Saw dolphins from our room and whilst on beach
Nice clean hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't like the restaurant as no one inside so no atmosphere and far too many people smoking outside. They need to have an outside area for smokers and for non smokers. We walked to another restaurant up the road.

Great location right on the beach,

Pros: great location
Cons: slow elevators
Location: Great Italian restaurant right across the street. Located at the base of the Sand Key Bridge.
This is the 2nd year we have stayed here. Friendly helpful staff. Great location, nice beach views of the gulf. Rooms very clean and have nice tile floors, no dirty rugs.

Overpriced and disappointed with stay

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: This hotel does have a nice beach area, nice personnel to help serve your needs. Also they had live entertainment.
Cons: The rooms need to be upgraded with new features, a/c units, etc.
Location: Great location, close to a lot of restaurants, stores, and great white sand beaches.
My room was very small, about half the size of a standard double occupancy hotel room. While it had a great view of the bay and nice plantation shutters, the noise was terrible. When the air conditioner kicked on (which was an old floor unit), it literally rattled the plantation shutters because they were above where the a/c unit was located. I literally attempted to stuff a t-shirt into the shutters to insulated the slats, but to no avail. When you turned the bathroom light on, the fan came on and rattled the ceiling. The hotel is old, outdated, and overpriced. Although its in a great location, the facilities are not up to resort beach level and the price they extract is too high. If I would of known what I was getting, I would of stayed somewhere else. My lesson learned.

Check in employees were not real friendly. Restaurant and bar employees were great along with the beach help.

So sad to be disappointed..

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Comfy bed with ample pillows to choose from.
Cons: At least a simple breakfast.
Location: Good places to eat within walking distance.
So first of all we traveled from Seattle and the baby was finally with an auntie so we were looking forward to this two night stay more than anything. The front desk was snotty when I asked for beach view- you would of thought we were asking for a free stay. So fine at least we would get to sleep in and I didn't book a room with a view, my bad. Construction was going on next door at 730a and woke us up! Also no breakfast, not even a muffin and no grocery store... and the resturaunt was horrific & expensive.
