Very surprised that this was a "Expedia Recommended". hotel, as showed during my search. Therefore I have booked. Perhaps it has never been visited by Expedia personell.

Basic but reasonably enoughPosted Sep 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
This a hotel designed in Soviet times and it keeps the same austere look and service level that it probably had at that times. The main advantage is that it's price/quality ratio is good and it's location is quite good: 5 minutes from the RR station, plenty of public transport available, trolley, buses, metro, and at one end of the "main" road (Nevtky Prospect)

so convenient to the train station! excellent taxi service to the airport (and fast, at 3 a.m. - less than 30 minutes). but not a room I would hang out in...not comfortable or luxurious or built for that. just hang your hat, and get out into Nevsky Prospekt, and enjoy this city!

St. Petersburg Hotel Review "No Customer Service"Posted Jul 8, 2011
Hotel staff was not speaking English. With their little English, they were extremely rude and not willing to help with your questions/requests. On the other hand, location of the hotel was very good. In the middle of everything. We were told that our booking didn't include the breakfast, even though I booked it online with breakfast included. They acted very rude!!!

Clean, safe, great location, but not 4 starPosted May 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a great hotel for someone who wants to spend time in the city, not in the hotel room. Clean, safe, 2 metro stops/walking distance to Hermitage, blocks from train station. Helpful, English-speaking staff. Just don't expect 4-star amenities.
