I strongly recommend this hotel. I prefer a small, compact room and that is what you get with this hotel. The bathroom is tiny, but I don't need a huge bathroom. But best of all, the internet service is superb. Better download and upload speeds that what I get in the U.S. with ATT or Comcast.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Very convenient and close to St. Isaac's and the Hermitage. Breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were clean and spacious. Rooftop terrace was spectacular in the evening overlooking St. Isaac's

The hotel was a little difficult to find at first but if you stand right in front of St. Issac's Cathedral with the statue in the square at your back, the street is to your right. Go down about 3 blocks and just past the coffee shop is the buzzer to the hotel.
I found my room #1, to be the largest room ever in all my travels. My bathroom was not a shared bathroom but it was just outside my room. The drapes are sheer so you may want to bring an sleep mask, it didn't bother me. Though it was -8 C outside, my room was not cold at all. Yulia was really helpful and she even drew me a map my first day there, Anastasia was the other person on the desk my second day. Both girls speak very good English and are very eager to answer your questions about the city. I would certainly book here again when I come to visit St. Peteresburg for the 3rd time next year.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It wasn't particularly close to some of the main sights, but you can take a cab or the underground - or just walk, which is what we did.
The concierge tried to be helpful, and was in most cases.
Breakfast was very expensive, but good.

Apart from rather thin towels very nice hotel. Found Reception really helpful arranging taxis and restaurant bookings. Hotel restaurant ok for breakfast but would probably be a bit dim for dinner. Breakfast acceptable but limited choice of fruit. We had a 'design' room which was nicely furnished. Despite facing onto the busy Nevsky Pr was quiet.

The four of us stayed here for 3 nights. When we got there and were shown the room (a standard room) we realized that the two doubles were actually two singles and certainly not enough for the four of us. But the front desk manager was very nice, shifted us into the biggest standard room (314: nice view of Nevsky Prospect) and told us they would put rolling single beds for our kids without charge. It is a comfortable place to stay in, well run, and the concierge was very helpful in getting taxis for us. The hotel has their own taxi which is quite expensive but the ones they call from outside are for a fixed price and very reasonable. The location on Nevsky Prospect, is wonderful: lots of nice restaurants close by, fun to just walk on the street, and about a 25 minute walk to Hermitage. Try to get a room looking onto Nevsky Prospect. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this place over one night between our travel destinations . Beautiful area with walking distance to many historical places even over one evening. Staff is very pleasant, hotel is clean, and rooms are comfortable and quiet. Would stay there again if in the area.

A1 experience from check in to check out. Great location close to 'must see' sites, museums and panoramas of the magnificent old imperial capital of Russia. The building is a well preserved and meticulously restored 18th century palace. It's worthwhile to spend several hours exploring and admiring the interiors. The hotel's atmosphere calls for 'slowing down', look around and enjoy staying in cozy luxury.

A very grand ( and very large) hotel. Rooms large and comfortable.
We had an issue on our last day as we had extended our stay by one day after staying there at the end of our Volga cruise. We were charged for their very expensive breakfast ( though I must add it is the most magnificent spread I have ever seen). Our other 3 nights had included breakfast. On complaining, they reversed the charge.
