Pros: Staff are friendly and overall environment is classy.
Location: Hermitage is a must- minimum of 3 hours. The Hop-on Hop-off bus is inexpensiive and useful to give an overall impression of the immediate area. C
Excellent value for the cost- a 4-5 five star hotel . All aspects of the hotel met our expectations- room was large, well appointed, and clean. The gym was very good and the sauna was relatively small but well maintained. The location is perfect as most things for tourists were in easy walking distance.

Wonderful Location and StaffPosted Jun 4, 2013
Pros: The staff, especially the concierges and the front desk. They couldn't have been more helpful!
Cons: The restaurant was only open for breakfast. You could get food throughout the day and evening but had to do so in the lounge.
Location: Ideal location in walking distance to many sites.
The Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic Hotel is very comfortable and in a great location. It is just down the block from St. Isaac's Cathedral and an easy walk to the Hermitage and many other points of interest. The hotel even has a relationship with the Hermitage so you can get into the Museum without having to stand in line. The staff was very helpful and seemed very comfortable speaking many languages. The concierges were wonderful and arranged for several theater tickets - excellent seats - and also coordinated a private guide and driver for us. I have never considered hiring a private guide previously but it was wonderful and money well-spent. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and holiday travelers.

Nowhere near a 5 starPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: The terrace bar at the 6th floor
Cons: It's 5 star rating
Location: Very good
There is nothing really wrong about this hotel, the only problem is that it isn't anywhere near a 5 star hotel. It barely is a 4 star and to some it could even be less than that. No one at the door to help you with your luggage. The hotel, its rooms, corridors and lobby look and feel old and in need of maintenance. The restaurant is only a space with tables behind the lobby. The only thing that surprised me as very good is a terrace bar at the 6th floor with a magnificent view of St. Isaac cathedral, but for the rest, one would expect a lot more from a 5 star.

Excellent Hotel and close to SightsPosted May 20, 2013
Second visit to this very good hotel just off St Isaac's Square and close to the Cathedral and also close to sights such as The Hermitage & Cathedral on the Spilled Blood. Staff are all very helpful from the Concierge, Restaurant and Reception staff! Didn't have dinner in the hotel this time but breakfast is excellent and sets you up for a full day's sightseeing. Would heartily recommend hence two visits!
