This hotel was very helpful to visitors who do not speak Russian and their concierge services are absolutely wonderful. They arranged, by email, my transportation from the dock where my river cruise ended, transportation to and from a dinner engagement in a location some distance away as well as a ride to the airport for my departing flight. The concierge confirmed my flight and printed my boarding pass. This is a terrific advantage for anyone from abroad. The location was good, perhaps not as close to some of the major sites as one might like but St. Petersburg is a walker's delight and I would say the same about this hotel. They have a very good restaurant and coffee bar, free wifi and wonderful health spa and swimming pool. It is a great place to stay and in a great city!

Good location - about a 15-20 min walk to the river and Hermitage. Only time it's location was an issue for me was when I walked back alone late (as a lone female) after watching the bridges rise at 1.30am. I did not see any local taxis although there was plenty of traffic on the main roads but few people so I felt vulnerable. On the whole though it seemed to be a safe city but at that time I had wished the hotel was closer! It was well located for the theatres though. Room small but clean, quiet and comfortable. Surprised not to get a complimentary bottle of water in the room as mini bar cost for water was expensive and it is not recommended to drink tap water there. Also no hair conditioner, facecloth or vanity kit provided which surprised me given the room cost. Otherwise very good. Concierge was good and arranged taxi transfers to the airport for me as well as a tour to Peterhof. The 9th floor restaurant had stunning views over the city and is fantastic for watching the sun set. The food was delicious. The Gallery Bar served food 24/7 at reasonable prices which was useful. My rate did not include breakfast but surprisingly I found room service breakfast to be a decent price and there was a supermarket and many cafes nearby. I also had a massage in the spa - superb masseuse and I would highly recommend it!

the room was small, there was no way to heat water, the mini bar prices were ridiculous, the breakfast was great, but at $28 Euros -- over priced

The only complaint was that everything in the hotel was expensive. Ie there was only the buffet breakfast and it was 25.00 per person. It was good but not used to spending 50.00 every morning for breakfast

If your going to St. Petersburg this hotel is withon minutes walknig distance of everything. Be aware though Russia is on the up and things are getting to be in line with all top city pricing so don't epect anything cheap here. Well worth a visit - particularly if you like classics, culture and good food - but - expect to pay for it.

Best Hotel of a mammoth amount I've stayed in all over the world. Everything just RIGHT. Lighting , bathroom shower and bath, size. Designed by someone who understands needs of those staying in Hotel. That applies to Lobby, gym pool as well And breakfast buffet fabulous with view of St P as well

People in the hotel were very friendly. The swimming pool and sauna were just as good as any 5 star hotel in the US. Free use of computer in the lobby was great. Breakfast was excellent with all different kinds of food.

The hotel was really clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. Great location as well. Short walk to the major attractions. The only thing i did have aproblem with was the fitness facilities. you had to pay extra to use then and it wasn't cheap. £12 to use to pool for an hour is a bit much to ask when your paying to stay in the hotel

The room was clean and comfortable, though there was no razor provided and cheap soap/shower gel. The very excessive charge for guests to use the pool after 11:30am is inexcusable. Breakfast was lacking local flare and overpriced, but reasonable choice. Non-heated bain-maries and stone cold plates didn't help. Check your bill regularly as we were charged for minibar use (we never use them) though this was cancelled on request. Tourist registration charge not included in price (many other hotels do). Concierge service very good and in-house taxi service excellent but costly. Excellent metro system has a station (Sadovaya) within five minutes walk, it has platforms for lines 1, 2 and five. Lift requires room key to work as well as being slow, and stairs not accessible except for evacuation. 9th floor restaurant gives good view of cities high-rise free sky line. Location is good for access to all the tourist attractions which are spread all around the inner city. Particularly close are Sadovaya Utilitsa/Nevisky prospect (main shopping and commercial area).
