“An Overlooked Gem”

Remember, you came to Barbados for Barbados and not for the hotel room. Tropical Winds is quite out of the way, but excellent value with an amazing staff!

“great staff, great rooms quiet, clean & friendly”

the staff were excellent in every way, so friendly & helpful. the whole place was very clean & tidy, & quiet, and the pool was cleaned every morning and the surrounding areas. the staff chatted to me as if they had known me all their life and offered advice about places to visit and the cheapest or quickest way I felt that I had met new friends for the staff were so polite and wanted to help as much as they could to make my stay comfortable. the only downside was the restaurant's menu, as it rarely had the food that was on there, and the evening meal became a bit of a farce, but food was well cooked and presented. I would return and would recommend this hotel but you do need a car to get around

The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and courteous, but allowed you to relax and enjoy your privacy.

Good place to stay for budget minded traveler. Clean quiet rooms. Restaurant serves good food at somewhat high prices. Location is not near tourist areas or beaches, but good for short stay duration, or for travelers looking to tour the island with their own means of transportation. Good place to simply sleep and go venture out for the day to see the island. Friendly low key hotel on the southeastern part of the island, about 15 minutes from the airport.

“B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bucket)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

This hotel is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and sprucing up! It is extremely dreary and depressing. In addition, there is absolutely nothing around this hotel. You are actually in the middle of nowhere!!! On my second day at Tropical Winds there was no water for the whole day and the receptionist at the front desk could not tell me when the water would be back on! However, she did tell me that the water truck would be passing by shortly and that I should get a bucket so that I could collect some water from the truck, so that I could freshen up! In my opinion, you should never tell a guest what this receptionist told me!! This hotel should have an arrangement with a neighbouring hotel to shuttle their guests to if they are unable to provide the necessities that their guests have paid for!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN BUCKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
