Relaxing hotelPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable bed, lovely room, nice patio, and excellent gift shop.
Cons: We thought the restaurant was overpriced and too formal. Also, the pool was undergoing repair and not available at our stay.
We liked the fact that we could walk (10 minutes) to visit the Chateau de Les Baux. Also, we had a pretty view at night from our patio showing the hateu lighted. Good parking, great bathroom, with a tub looking over the pool./

Baux en Provence - DelightfulPosted May 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, the Ostau de Baumaniere falied achieve 5 full stars in our books.. Sure the setting is spectacular and the service eas very attentive and first rate, but the facilities themselves are a bit tired. Yes, it is in an old, old, old building, but it seems the carpet hasn't been replaced in quite a few years, but more important was that the bed was simply second rate. It, and a sister hotle nearby, the Preuire, was revovated at much the same time, using exactly the same furnishings. The real downer was the two twin beds placed side by side to give the impression of a double, when in reality, the bed is too soft to offer back support, and the two of you had better not swing towards each other in the middle! The small rooms for a premium price - another downer. But service was first class. But, once at Baux, you will quickly overlook the small rooms and the uncomfortable beds...the overall setting is magnificent.

We were blown away by how much we enjoyed Oustau de Baumaniere. The 2 Michelin star restaurant deserves three stars. The staff was so attentive to every need and I don't believe they knew the word 'no'. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is world class. Great food and excellent service. You have several places that they own where you can stay. Last visit I was in the Manor House, which is my least favorite.

modern motel room on historic propertyPosted Oct 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel informed us when we complained about our modern motel room down an unmarked dirt road away from any hotel services that we should have known everything about this from the hotel's website. So, we want you to know that you should book this hotel if you like suburban US motel rooms without windows that can be opened and you want to get in the car to have any meal, a swim, or a drink. You will be randomly assigned by the hotel to a room location--and you better like it! We have stayed at numerous Chateaux and Relais properties around the world--all charming, warm and welcoming. Our room had no charm and we selected this hotel thinking it would meet the Relais and Chateau standard. We were never told that there was another restaurant on the property, so we ate all of our meals at the main restaurant that is excellent but very expensive. We recommend you book the best room in the hotel next door and eat at this hotel's restaurant one night. Unless, of course, you prefer modern suburban motel rooms --then this is your place.

We were very disappointed with the room considering the price that we paid - we had stayed in a far better room in Italy the previous week for almost half the price. The room was also located nowhere near the main part on the hotel including the swimming pool. And as far as the restaurant was concerned - the prices were way out of our range, but we did find a number of very good restaurants locally.

As near perfection as I have seenPosted Jul 22, 2011 on Hotels.com
Excellent service, superb surroundings, near perfection from the kitchen. I find it very very hard to fault anything. Oh there is the price, but hey that fizzles into an insignificance and you almost don't even look at the number. Go and enjoy.

The hotel is breathtaking and the service matches. The room, the landscape and the service were all the very best.

Provence oasisPosted Jun 23, 2010
If you are looking for a hotel that will allow you to experience Provence at it's best, you found it! The rooms outside the main house make you feel like you live there, with the private patios and nature all around you. The restaurant is a must, for breakfast or dinner, or both!
