Pleasantly surprised found an oasis by the airportPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Location and setting location and setting!
Cons: Clean but a little older
Location: Great place to stay before or after charters, cruise or house rentals
We were pleasantly surprised by this terrific property just a mile or so from St Thomas airport but it seems like it's on the other side of the island. Beautiful views from your room of the bay and a terrific beach bar to enjoy a cool drink. All at a fair price.

Best beach!Posted Jun 27, 2015
Close to airport (the planes fly almost over hotel, but most flights during daytime). Best sandy beach in St Thomas. Good snorkeling off left side (bldg4) up the rocky edge. Beach bar is very nice--restaurant is ok food, just remember all service is "Island time" so allocate about 45 minutes for food to arrive from Order time. I love fish but all fish at islands is pretty much imported from PR or other place so typically frozen thawed--so I advise staying with local non fish meals. Building 2 had older bathrooms than Building 4. All rooms have beautiful ocean view -- higher up Better the view.

Clean but room had a water leak that ran all nightPosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Location. Nice beach. Staff was good.
Cons: Repairs to the room. Water leak in the ceiling. Was afraid the ceiling might come down over the shower.
Location: Didn't go anywhere. Just stayed overnight before heading home.
Room wasn't ready when we arrived. Then gave me a room with 2 doubles when I had signed up for a King. Waited again for a King to become available. Staff was nice in accommodating us.

Nice hotel right on beachPosted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Clean, right on beach
Cons: A little updating
Location: Right next to airport but not a problem because no early or late flights
Hotel experience was just fine. What else would you like me say.

You pay for the view and location, nothing more.Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: The view and location
Cons: Maintenance and cleanliness
Location: Nothing, taxi to everything except hotel restaurant.
The location was good but if I had to pay the rate they were advertising ($275 a night) when I was there I would have been extremely angry. The room looked like it was renovated but it was extremely dirty and un-kept. There was extensive dust all over the ceiling. The bathroom floor was perpetually wet from an unknown source. The air conditioning was barely adequate and the drain for the condensation was over the shower head in the shower so you got nasty A/C water dripping on your head while you try to shower. Overall, it was adequate for $75-$100 a night for the location, if the rate is higher then skip it for a better maintained hotel.

A Great Place to End a BVI Trip!!Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Great food in beach grill & restaurant; rooms large & well decorated; lots of atmosphere; free rum punches; VERY CLOSE & CONVENIENT to the airport
Cons: Bugs in the room - a millipede in ours; a cockroach in our friends!
Location: We never left the grounds.
Great food in beach grill & restaurant - however, service was SLOW……. an 1-1/4 wait for dinner & 1/2 wait for lunch was a little much for us. Staff, however, were very accommodating. Rooms large & well decorated. We could have skipped the foot long, live millipede we threw out onto the balcony. Otherwise, a BEAUTIFUL way to end a trip - lots of atmosphere - and thanks for the free rum punches!! And also VERY CLOSE & CONVENIENT to the airport, but very little air noise and secluded - you would never guess it was just across the street from it.

Cons: Restaurant is "island time" so be prepared.
Airplane noise, but we were just overnight before flying home so close to airport was a plus

Good hotelPosted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: Close to hotel
Cons: Train staff to be more personable.
Location: Close to airport
It was a good hotel for one night. I booked this room because the Vila that we were going to stay was not ready. You can tell that the hotel is old but the room was clean. The view from our room was amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was ok for breakfast but not the best. The hotel is super close to the airport which is the main reason I booked this hotel. A taxi from the airport to this hotel will cost you about $7 dollars per person including baggage. The staff at the hotel is not rude but not friendly. They do their job and that's it. Don't try to smile at them cause you might not get one back lol.

All about the viewsPosted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Views and beach
Location: Good food at frenchtown. Oceana was pricey but very good. Cool location on the water.
The best western emerald beach resort is a nice little resort. The location and views is what takes it to another level. The views are amazing. The balconies are so close to the water and the water is nice and clear, specially when the sun is out. The beach bar, which is right on the beach is a cool place to hangout. Really good bar food and drinks. Specially pizza,Cuban sandwich and calamari. All drinks are good thanks to the experienced bartenders. Did not eat at the restaurant. Stuck with the bar menu for lunch and dinner. Never had a problem with the A/C. The airplanes taking off was always cool to see as your in the water watching the plane fly over the hotel and Palm trees. Definitely take bug spray.
