Too far from beach and town

Posted Feb 23, 2015
The hotel is on a steep hill and the town and beach are too far away to walk to. You'll need a car or taxi. Minimal entertainment. The staff was pleasant and helpful but I was in the Villa III room 103 which was old and smelled of mildew even though the a/c worked well. Okay for a budget hotel. If I was trading my timeshare in Cancun for this, I would be very disappointed. The restaurants had good food, though pricey. The pool seemed nice and clean. Would choose a different hotel next visit unless all others are booked

Wonderful place!

Nice views, convenient location and a very nice staff. The Concierge, Joyce was super helpful and very friendly, kudos to her. Very comfortable rooms, spacious with private balconies. It is a Time Share so once a week room service is the norm which is fine. It does need a little updating but would stay there again!!

Very Nice Location

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: I liked the views and convenience to the rest of the island. The restaurants and bars were very good.
Cons: The room was a bit dated.
Location: Your view is of the cruise dock. You need to taxi or have a car to get anywhere from the hotel. You are up a very steep hill getting to the hotel.
We rented a car so Bluebeards was a nice starting point for our travels to other parts of the island.

Great Location

Posted Feb 16, 2015
The hotel/time share is very dated. House cleaning is provided only once in a 7 day week. Food at the three restaurants are pricey, except for happy hour - good price ($5.00) for appetizers. Great view.

Not a good stay.

Posted Feb 16, 2015
This room was awful. 3 flights of steps, not enough parking, small, no view. When I got there water was on the floor of the bathroom, the refrigerator was dirty and the sink stopper in the bathroom broke the 3rd day and stayed that way for the remainder of my stay. The outside lights shine through the windows despite blinds, so it's hard to sleep plus the walls are so thin you can hear every word your neighbors said. The staff wasn't helpful and told me to call Expedia if I was unhappy. I asked to be moved to another room since I was there for two weeks. Everyday I was told that wasn't possible. I won't stay at this hotel again. But I will visit the restaurant Room with a View! Excellent food and service.

Great Winter Getaway

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: Convenience to town, amenities, view, pool, restaurants
Location: near to shopping and restaurants in Charlotte Amalie
We had a great 5 day winter vacation at Bluebeard's castle resort. The room had a great view of the bay which we enjoyed every morning as we started the day. There was a kitchenette and we took advantage of this to have several meals. The restaurants on the property were excellent as well. This was a very good value for the price.

3 night stay

Posted Feb 9, 2015
The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. And the food at the restaurants was outstanding. However, since these are timeshares they do not come to clean your room if you stay for only 3 nights. We were on St. Thomas for a funeral and this being the height of tourist season our options were limited. The tub in the bathroom - which was no more than 10 feet wide - did not seem to have been cleaned and the bed pillows were flat and lumpy. I will most likely stay somewhere else next time.
