Relaxing beach vacation

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Private beaches on resort offering beautiful turquoise waters. Snorkel, kyack, sail, hiking also available on resort. Staff are always ready to make stay an enjoyable one. Zozos restaurant on resort, great meal with beautiful view. Nice sunset Cruise at evening and sail/snorkel tour during day. Breakfast buffet to start day. Short taxi ride into town for shopping and dining.in town. In town, recommend trying Ocean Grill and Da Cold Pot for local dining. A very nice vacation experience.

Better than your expectations!

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: The 170 private acres & seven private beaches allows you to complete relax & enjoy the island.
Cons: St. Thomas airport is a nightmare but there isn't anything the Caneel Bay Resort can do about the airport.
Location: Coral reefs, turtles, sting rays, sailing, scuba diving, fishing.. There are more things to do than there is time to do it in.
This resort is unlike any other. The attention to detail makes it a 5-star resort. From the minute you arrive at the St. Thomas airport, the Caneel Bay Resort staff is there to transport you on their private ferry to the Caneel Bay Resort. The exclusive nature of this resort, complete with all the amenities you could ever want, makes it the vacation destination of your dreams.

Staff was not friendly.

There were very little smiles from staff at this resort. This was not expect at a resort of this caliber. The beaches are beautiful though!

Beautiful location

Posted Jun 12, 2015
This is a lovely resort with beautiful beaches and unparalleled grounds. Friendly donkey and deer roam around and there is a shuttle to take you to the various beaches and other locations. The staff is mostly friendly and accomodating, but they could use a little work in this. The service in the resteraunt was not great. You are paying a price for premium service, so it would be nice to get it. The rooms were fine and the views spectacular. Very relaxing vibe.

They make everything so convenient.

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Right from the baggage claim at St Thomas airport you hand over your luggage and it is brought directly to your room at the resort. Their cab and ferry take you right to the Caneel dock. It's much easier than taking the public ferry at red hook (did that many times). No need to rent a car either but you can rent one at the resort if you wanted to. Taxis are readily available if you want to see more of the island. The beaches at the resort are as nice as any on the island. We will be going back to Caneel Bay again.

Peace and quiet with luxury

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: The staff is top notch. The location is fantastic. Enjoyed the sunset views looking west toward Saint Thomas.
Cons: Nothing, everything was fantastic.
Location: A rental vehicle, can be rented on site, is a must to really enjoy all that Saint John has to offer.
Stayed at Caneel for one week. Room on Hawksnest beach. Enjoyed the peace and quiet at Caneel. Great staff, great location, great food and fantastic drinks. If you enjoy these things, Caneel should be at the top of your list. On the other hand, if you are looking for a Sandals type resort, this is not the place for you. Caneel is all about peace and quiet along with luxury.

Pretty, relaxing but lacks service

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: The beaches, trails for hiking, wildlife (donkey's deer) made the atmosphere nice and relaxing. Breakfast was included - big plus!
Cons: Service was not great. Staff was often put off. Itinerary was never put in room, although promised. No one explained services.
Location: Downtown nearby. Ferry to St Thomas and BVI.
The grounds and beaches are beautiful. There are seven beaches and something to appease every taste. Wild donkeys and deer roam the property which is beautiful to watch whether you are taking a walk or sitting on your porch. The rooms are large and comfortable. There are plenty of events to keep you busy is you wanted to take trips, snorkel or go to the BVI.

Great resort

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Facilities, service
Location: Resort is pretty self contained, with all necessary amenities. Car rental available on site, but could be slightly cheaper. Very convenient.
Wonderful time. Amazing resort with private beaches. Highly recommended. Will be back.
