Nightmare: Stay away!Posted Feb 3, 2015 on Hotels.com
This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Lobby closes in evening and opens at 8 a.m. No one was there to give me my key!! I was stranded at night in the middle of no where! They gave me only one key, and we accidentally left it in the room at 6:30 a.m. No one was there to let me in the room until after 8 a.m. There is no one available to answer the phone after hours! Seriously! This is nonsense! What if it was an extreme emergency? What if the building were on fire or flooded?! They claim a security guard is around, but only part of the time. Also, I had no hot water. No turn down or house cleaning service. Also, they tried to cancel my room the day before, saying they were overbooked. I should have looked elsewhere then! How is this a Wyndham? I thought that name meant something? Please stay somewhere else! This was a complete nightmare!

We enjoyed the hotel but the stairs was too much.Posted Jan 31, 2015
Pros: cleanliness and the fridge and microwave. Made it easy to have breakfast and heat up leftovers. Saved us some money. Called housekeeping and they came
Cons: nothing. just a personal problem with the number of stairs
Location: restaurants, taxis to downtown area, ferry to ST.John's
The stairs was a factor that made the trip difficult.. I have two knee replacements. I should have read everything about the hotel before we booked it. The staff was great and came to pick us up when I was able to call them. The atmosphere, the grounds, restaurants were great. Of course the weather was great .

The ElysianPosted Jan 13, 2015 on Hotels.com
Though it's mostly used as a timeshare, it was still a fun place for tourists to stay. The night life in Red Hook is arguably the best on the island, and is relatively close to the Elysian. Staff was mostly friendly, especially at the beach side bar/restaurant. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Nice hotel with a nice view. Bad management.Posted Sep 21, 2014
The pool was closed for almost our entire stay. There was no notification of this when we booked!! The hotel staff manager did not seem to have any compassion or do anything to assure any repeat business on our part. We will NOT be going back and would discourage any one else from going!

Comfy affordable hotel in great locationPosted Aug 13, 2014
It was great staying on the East Side of St Thomas with easy access to Red Hook, and the ferries by foot or car barge to St John. Definitely rent a jeep and explore both islands. Elysian staff were so helpful and the rooms were clean and safe.

Cowpet Bay hotel on the beachPosted Jul 19, 2014
This was my third stay here is the past 19 months, however, I was not recognized nor treated as a returning customer. The initial room assigned had no view, a recent water leak, and no bed (pull out sofa only). I was switched to a better room. Although housekeeping was not included, there was no apparent mechanism for getting room coffee pot supplies, clean bath towels, or trash disposal. The on-site primary restaurant was out of about 1/3 of the entrees, the WiFi and the hot tub were out of service the entire stay. On the other hand, the pool, the beach (and amenities), the staff, and the bisto (Sangria's) were above average.

Friendly staff Quiet area but a tad tiredPosted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Fairly decent resort on the water with a decent beach. Somewhat isolated as you will have to take a cab if you want to leave the resort for a meal or two. Some rooms like mine required a climb of 60 plus steps to get back after a visit to the beach or restaurant. Nice pool but the iguanas like it too - seriously you will likely see several large iguanas roaming about the pool looking for unattended snacks. I dont know if they pose a risk but I'm glad I did not have young children with me.

No housekeeping for 5 days ! Sand everywhere.Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: close to ferry
Cons: Called from the US to specifically request a room near beach...no such luck..and the rooms close to the beach were empty all week!
Location: Do your homework, you are on your own. Hotel is not helpful.
FYI;as soon as you check in; Elysian Resort will charge you 250$ on your credit card for incidentals.
