Friendly place with great view of town below

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and location were great. Breakfast on patio was really great and filling.
Cons: Just a better mattress for the bed we had. Room was neat a clean and small but that's what we expected.
Location: All old town was just steps below us. Really good location
We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and a . Shared bathroom was no problem. Bed was lopsided a bit so sleeping wasn't all that comfortable. Breakfast and patio were excellent.

Worst Hotel Ever

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Most everything
Location: If you are elderly or have any trouble hiking, then the stairs here could be a problem.
We checked in in the evening time and were greeted by the desk person after a 5 minute wait. We asked about the breakfast in the morning and were told it didn't start until 8 AM. The main flight leaving St. Thomas back to Miami leaves at 9 AM, so getting our included breakfast wasn't an option. I then asked for a bottle of water and was charged $2.00 for it, even thought they were not having to feed both of us in the morning. I thought that was a little classless, at the least. When giving us our room key the lady then explained very quickly about the multiple locked gates to get onto the property and then to get into the room hallway. All had to be locked when coming and going. That made us feel very uncomfortable! We later found out from our waitress at dinner that we should never be walking about after dark in the area just down from the hotel. Major crime area. We went to the room and were amazed how small they could make a room! It was literally about 10' by 11', with no window, no shampoo, Kleenex or any other regular items you would find in a hotel room. There were only a couple of small, cheap bars of soap. The towels were thin and holy. There were wires hanging from the wall and the inside of the shower tile was filthy as was the area around the sink. We could hear the person next door snoring the walls were so thin. If it wasn't for being at night we would have left for another hotel but we figured we were leaving in the morning so we stayed. NEVER AGAIN

Good value hotel close to town

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Good value- nice price if you aren't looking for 5 star comfort.
Location: Walking distance to the downtown and all the shops and restaurants- mostly catering to the cruise crowds.
Very friendly staff. Was a little hard to find as streets are marked well and GPS map on my phone was not working. Booked room with shared bath. Was very clean and pleasant. Bed was comfortable and even had AC. Very quiet. Pool and view were very nice. I left early before breakfast was served, so can't comment on the food.

Walk pass this one.

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: No
Cons: Everything
Location: Downtown not a bad location if you want to shop. If you recover from the stair's and the hill you have to get down prior to getting to Main St.
Absolutley horrible. The shower was filthy, I could feel the spings in the mattress, when I laid down to sleep. So, don't expect to sleep. Breakfast is enough to feed a toddler. You do get about 6ozs of juice. If you have the realted issues, heart condition , arthritis, back pain, respiratory issues, high blood pressure to name a few, this not the place for you to stay. The stair's you have to climb could actually kill you. There is a pool and the Iguana's love to deficate there so you may find yourself sliding into the pool if you stay in the wrong area. There are some guest that get so drunk that they make so much noise coming in at night you think, maybe a hurricane touched down. Staff only responds to necessary questions don't give them anything complex because they do not care. Sleep on the street a much better alternative. Award of Excellence I don't think so. Do your self a favor skip this one.

Pleasant Stay

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: I felt more like I was a part of the community.
Cons: Make part of the veranda a lounge area with comfortable seating to relax during the day or evening.
Location: Must have transportation to get to the downtown area. Nice area to stroll around, but mostly residential.
My husband and I got a reasonable flight fare to St Thomas, but it required us to stay an extra day before and after our resort accommodations. We stay both of those days at the Gallon B & B. The two young ladies who managed the daily operations were very welcoming and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, made to order, out on the veranda. We would definitely stay here again if we needed additional accommodations and would recommend it to others.

Cozy place in the heart of the city.

This place was really quaint. I loved the breakfast and wished I stayed for it more often. There were lots of stairs but that's St. Thomas. Very friendly, very accommodating, very close to everything you need.
