Unique property with rooms that have both shared & private bathrooms. Great location if you just need 1-2 nights on St. Thomas when arriving or departing airport but your main stay is on St. John. Lovely, clean pool. Friendly staff. Historical center of city, lovely views. Note: many stairs up to property, so may not be good if you have lots of bags and few hands to carry.

Good for budget traveler with amazing views , but if you got the extra funds I would stay somewhere else very nice and helpful owner however. The lady at the front desk refused to help me get rid of the unusually high amount of mosquitos in my room or didn’t offer to relocate me to a different room. Even though there were times were other guests similar to the same room I had checked out they gave the other rooms to new people instead of trying to help me fix my problem. No joke at least 20 mosquitos were killed in my room during my 4 day stay.

The staff couldn’t be better. One of the people in our party left her passport on the plane. She was frantic. Lakisha ( spelling?). called the airport for us and against the odds it was found, then Harry, the manager, drove my friend back to the airport to get it. They were all awesome and we will be back. Thanks!

We stayed here during a very impromptu and last-minute trip to the island. The property is dated, this is not a modern or luxury hotel. The furniture in the room is old, there is a shared microwave in a common area (not in the room),etc. But that didn't bother us at all. The room was clean and tidy, linens were clean, the views were AMAZING, the property was safe and quiet, and it's centrally located in the heart of town. There is a very nice and well maintained pool area, and you're literally steps away from tons of restaurants and little shops. It was a short (less than 20-minute) cab ride from Magens Bay Beach. It was also the most affordable option around, and we'll worth it for the views and location. One thing is, there are A LOT of stairs to get to check-in and to your room. That didn't bother us, but may be a consideration for some.

The location was convenient with street parking. The hotel was rather run down with several things needing repair. If you cannot tolerate abundent sugar in food, plan to bring your own breakfast.

The property has over 85 steps of varying sizes all outside that need to be climbed to get to our room. Unbelievable. We had to drag our luggage all the way. And then the room wasn’t ready at 3 as promised. Took almost 45 minutes longer to have the room cleaned. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. Our flight and six others were cancelled today. No other rooms were available or I would have taken one if them.

I love the laid back island atmosphere. It s very unique, not your cookie cutter hotel. Tropical flowers abound. The swimming area is very nice. If stairs are a problem for you, this may not be the best place because there are many. The breakfast is continental while you sit on a covered deck enjoying the view of St. Thomas.

The unique thing about this property is the joy of walking up 10 flights of stairs to your room to find one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. TV doesnt work, burnt out lights, no AC. Bugs. It su ks.

The location is great and the view from our room outstanding. Service was good and the property clean and well-kept. The only downside was the 51 steps needed to get to the reception area and another 31 to our room. Wish we had known that in advance.

NIGHTMARE OF A STAY!!!!!
We stayed here for a week long vacation. Upon arrival we were immediately disappointed in the condition of the rooms and the beds were like laying on a plank of wood that have springs digging into your back. We were not provided with housekeeping one time during our stay, even though we were told different. The provided breakfast is tap water, bagles, and breakfast bars. If you were expecting a hot meal you will be severely disappointed. On the last day of our stay the owners wife offered us a ride to the airport having us stick around the hotel with no late check out, after an hr of waiting around she then took back her offer and told us to take a cab. We spent over 1,200 to stay here and honestly my money was wasted and id never consider stay here again.

No hot water at all so we could not take a shower. We found this 10 to 8 pm, we tried many times then I ran to the front desk, staff has gone for the day. I tried to call, but no phone is listed in the front desk. Today 12/10, my friend booked another day to stay in this hotel, I talked two staffs, they told me that the hot water was broken yesterday (12/9), they knew that but they didn’t tell us, they said today is Sunday, nobody comes to fix. We paid around $143 on 12/9 stay, paid around $127 on 12/10 stay, no hot water, we can’t take a shower at all, there is no table and chairs in the room. The staffs are not nice at all.

Older property that could probably use a little updating. With that being said, the room was clean and as expected. This property is not for those that have trouble with stairs, as there is a lot of them and no elevator. This was convenient for our one night stay. If any longer, I don't believe that I would come back just due to the amount of stairs involved.

Pros: The lady managing was sweet, easy to talk to, great location, walk to restaurants and 20 minute walk to ferry port to St John. Cons: “The water pressure fluctuates” is what we were told. That translates to No water at all in the hotel room. Therefore toilets wouldn’t flush and absolutely No showers. The lady managing gave us 2 gallons of water to use for our needs. Glad we were only there overnight.

Galleon hotel is what you need when you go to st.thomas.The hotel is in the center of downtown, walking distance to everything ,Harry and sonia are the best when it comes to service.The hotel has a lot of stairs so make a note of that but is manageable.
