Not Family Friendly

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: The air conditioning and ceiling fan worked so the room was always comfortable. The king size bed was very comfy too. Quiet location.
Cons: Amenities, ground keeping, and daily housekeeping.
Location: the resort's on top of a very steep hill but centrally located to shopping, dining, beaches & CoralWorld. Strongly recommend a taxi, roads are dangerous!
The resort is very outdated and needs some serious ground keeping. The gift shop was closed due to a licensing issue, gym was closed, 2nd of 2 restaurants was closed, the pool was small and the waterfall wasn't working. No safes in rooms. Have to pay for WiFi. Housekeeping comes once a week. You will need to call for more towels and TP. Lucky for us we didn't need to, but they warn you that you may be required to check out of your room and transfer to another depending on the time share demand. If you are staying on the bottom floor your view is of the trees and parking lot. Your view is of the waterfront and bay where the cruise ships dock, no beaches/waves close by, but still a pretty view. The resort is on a very steep hill! It is centrally located to a lot of shopping and restaurants, BUT do not attempt to walk with your family, the elderly or anyone out of shape. It is a hike and the road outside the resort is narrow, curves and very dangerous! Strongly recommend a taxi or rent a car (drive on left side in St Thomas). Also just a fyi, almost all of the shops are closed when there isn't a cruise ship in the bay, and if there is, the streets will be packed but the shops will close up at 5pm! Call ahead before you pay a taxi to take you to Main St or the shopping areas! Our stay was comfortable and quiet but the amenities and ground keeping need some attention.

Reasonably priced hotel in a good location.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The views, restaurant, room size, price.
Cons: Should be clearly stated that these are time shares and not a traditional hotel. Any room change etc. is difficult.
Location: 5 miles from airport. Easy to get around to nearby attractions such as Magic ice, Magens bay tec.
We had difficulty checking in. The room was not ready. Staff not very accommodating. But, once we were inside we were pleasantly surprised. The room/bedding etc. were clean. Nice view from the balcony. A/C very cold. The restaurant in the premises is very good, although pricey. The hotel is on the top of a steep hill. So, getting around on foot is a hike.

Excellent view to the port and Charlotte-Amalie!

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Cons: Our room had a bit of a moldy/funky smell from the humidity. I recommend running the AC before guests arrive.
Location: BB Castle is centrally located, at hilltop overlooking Charlotte-Amalie. Coki beach for great snorkeling, then to VI:Ecotours for Kayak/Hike/Snorkel.
The whole facility is very clean and well kept, which was a positive surprise. There's two restaurants there, both having a perfect top-down view of the town and harbor.

STT with the grandkids

Trip with my 5 & 9 year old grand kids, plus my sister & her 6 year old grand son. They love the pool. Staff very friendly & helpful. Had 2 rooms reserved but under two different names. They went above & beyond rearranging incoming guest rooms to put us in adjoining rooms Beds comfortable a great plus. Beautiful views. Glad we chose to stay here.

Nice hotel with great views

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Clean and sprawling, friendly staff.
Cons: Convenience store was closed for license. Update gym.
Location: Very close to shopping and downtown.
Nice clean hotel with downtown and ocean views. On top of steep hill. Restaurants on premises are $$$. Didn't have daily housekeeping, but we didn't need it. Rooms are cleaned prior to check-in and out or once a week. They replace towels and linens promptly when requested. Deep (4-10 ft) pool by restaurants with ocean view.

Pros: large rooms
Cons: staff unfriendly
I had a bad experience upon checking in. I had a 2 night stay reserved through this company (Expedia). Once I got to the front desk I was informed I had to check out before 10 am next day then return after 4pm to check in again. They moved us to another room. I inquired them about this dissapointing situation, they just referrred Expedia is a third party.... Next day after leaving the hotel a woman had the same problem. This really complicates your short vacation. Paying for 2 nights and being 6 hrs without a room to get any kind of rest during the day and worrying about luggage left. I am no longer making any reservations to any hotel through Expedia unless it is warranted a room without the inconvenience suffered.

Only flaw is the 10 am checkout policy and $75/per hr late checkout fee. Kinda unfriendly.
