A hidden gem. Private beach with attentive staff. Spacious rooms with full kitchen. A little difficult to find so use the GPS.

Nice Hotel/Condominium on Beautiful Beach

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: The Beach
Cons: The cleanliness of the rooms, was just okay. The floors were really not cleaned in the corners and the bathrooms could have been much cleaner.
Location: Near Red Hook, where there are a couple shops and restaurants and Ferry Port. It's only $5 a person to get there by taxi.
We stayed 4 nights at Secret Harbour, don't let the word "Resort" mis-lead you. These are individually owned condominiums and depending on the one you get...well that says it all. We had a beach front 1 bedroom suite with King Bed, full kitchen beautiful balcony and two 55" TV's one in bedroom and one in living room. It was nice, but not up to my standards of cleanliness. The beach was beautiful but really it could have been better kept...it doesn't get vacuumed or cleaned so it gets dirty looking. It is a public beach, so be prepared for the occasional rowdy drunken crowd which we experienced one day. The restaurant's are really good and the bar/restaurant is very reasonably priced. However, I got bitten by sand fleas (no-see-ums) and ended having about 40 bites. When I got home I had to go on antibiotics and steroids. Beware of the mosquitos and sand fleas they are extremely bad on this Island and can cause Chikangunya and West Nile, which I am being treated for both. There is a recommendation on the CDC website for traveling to the Caribbean, so be sure to read it before you book. This place is nice, but it's not the "Ritz or Marriot" However the water in the beach is so pristine and clean and clear people come from all over the island to snorkel there. The pool is not much of anything and you have to walk up a steep hill and stairs to get there. Hope this helps.

The water was footsteps away, perfect water for swimming, great staff, comfortable suite, daily cleaning, great weather, friendly island, easy to travel to, great activities (snorkeling, parasailing, diving In safe environment). We couldn't ask for more.

Beautiful beach!

The room was spacious and looked to be mid-remodel, but it was very clean. The staff were friendly and willing to help. The resort is very secluded, but there was always a taxi ready to take us where we wanted to go. There is an obnoxious rooster in the area that crows throughout the night. Light sleepers beware!

Very Very nice Resort. Beach and Cove were fantastic. The snorkeling was fantastic. The access to Red Hook was really convenient. Not the newest Resort, but the rooms were very clean and well decorated.

It was a beautiful place to stay.

Pros: Clean and right on the beach. Restaurant staff are very nice.
Cons: the staff at the front desk, could be a little nicer.
Location: Charter by Nate was awesome. He is a big reason we will be coming back. The Jester was great and the Dinner Sailboat (New Horizon) was fabalous.
It was a beautiful place to stay. The food/drinks are alittle expensive but the views are unbelievable. I would go back in a heartbeat. If you go you need to charter a boat. I would completely recommend Charters by Nate. Best beach on the island.
