worth the moneyPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: clean ,cute and wonderful staff
Cons: less stairs
Location: close to walk to anything
all the staff were so nice, especially the mgr. and assistant mgr! such a laid back enviroment and comfortable. they even booked a trip for us that was unavailable to tourists. they were always available for any thing we needed or just wanting to talk. My wife and I loved the quaint inn and we could walk to any place we wanted to go! If you want the Hilton, this is not your place, but if you want quiet, cute and excellant care, plus local flair this is right up your alley!!

Great simple accommodations in townPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Location, hosts, hospitality (bagels/cereal/coffee for breakfast, rum punches for sunset viewings over the water). And the bed was excellent.
Location: You're five minutes from all of downtown Cruz Bay. Closest to Fatty Crab (delicious asian small places), Woodys (best happy hr drinks).
Had a great stay at St Johns Inn, right in walking distance to all of Cruz Bay. No having to drive for evening restaurants and bars after driving around the island beaches all day. And the bed was really comfortable. Paige had everything we needed for going out, beach towels and accessories. Very friendly and easy accommodations. If you are expecting a resort-like amenities go elsewhere. I'll be staying here when we come back to St John.

Adorable Boutique InnPosted Oct 3, 2013
Location: Beaches, Bars, Restaurants, National Park, Snorkeling, Ferry to other islands, Hiking, Shopping
The St. John Inn is absolutely adorable and perfect for travelers not quite on a budget but who want more than the resort experience. The Inn has free happy hour every evening where everyone gathers around the cute back porch/pool area for rum punch. Guests have the option to bring food (the market is right down the street) and grill food for dinner; it's a great community atmosphere. There is coffee and cereal provided for breakfast in the morning. They also allow guests to borrow coolers, beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment. The staff are beyond helpful and friendly. Our room was just one tad too small for us, but it was cute, brightly colored, and clean. We loved being able to check-in at 1:00 PM, and the downtown area is about a 7 minute walk. You can even walk to the National Park and pick up the trail to Honeymoon Beach from this inn. We would stay here again in an instant.

Great location.Posted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: I like the fact that it is small and intimate, giving one the opportunity to get special and personal attention from staff including the manager.
Cons: Improvement is needed on bathroom accessories. Replace the old mis- match towels with some new full sets and replace the broken tiles in the shower.
Location: Great location- Restuarants are within close proximity and there are a variety. Close to ferries so one can go island hopping to St. Thomas and others
Had a great stay at St. John Inn. The scenery over looking the ocean is breathtaking. It was fun to watch the loading and unloading of vechiles on to the ferry in the mornings while having breakfast. I enjoy looking at the lush vegetation that surrounds the grounds of the hotel including the beautiful flowers. The sunset rum punch was enjoyable and refreshing especially with the heat given the fact that it was very hot on the island. The location is great since it is only a short walk to both ferries and if one does not want to walk there are taxis available. The hotel staff will call a taxi for you. They are very helpful in providing you with information to get to points of interest. The beaches are lovely the only set back is that you have to take a cab otherwise you can hike to a nearby beach if you don't mind.

Walking distance of ferry and townPosted Aug 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent. John and Paige have brought their Midwest Minnesotan hospitality down to the Islands. They couldn't go out of their way to be more accommodating, and in such a warm generous way. If we had forgot to bring it, they had it! Even snorkeling equipment was available for our use. The St. John Inn is a stones throw from the car ferry, and a short 5 minute walk from the town, passenger ferry and grocery store. The rooms are cleaned daily and have many amenities including Air conditioning, wifi, coffee, HDTV and are quiet - a tranquil sleep will be had! The real gem of my experience was John and Paige. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Loved it! Everything you need.Posted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great spot. Convenient to town, priced reasonably (for the destination seems about as cheap as it gets) but still a quality hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was incredibly clean, the bed was very comfortable. Each room seems a different type & size, so check that when booking. Pool is small but big enough to just hang in. Breakfast was included, as were borrowing beach chairs, towels, coolers, snorkel gear and rum punch happy hour daily at 6, right after all the other happy hours are over and wifi on the deck. Very convenient to town, didn't have to rent a car, just walked from the ferry terminal. Coffee shop a block away, grocery & pharmacy markets 2 blocks away, rental cars across the street and 3 or so blocks to town. The immediate neighborhood is not visually the best, but I had no safety concerns night or day, and many non-resort locations on the island visually similar. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for people looking for a personal, authentic experience. If you want a resort and on site beach, go stay at one but for more laid back independent travelers, this is a fantastic place.

Love this place. Especially the staff - we took their advice on everything, every day, and have no regrets. The inn is adorable, very accommodating. We borrowed something every day - cooler, snorkels, towels, chairs. Definitely recommend.

Very friendly staff.Posted Jun 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
The folks working at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They know the island well and can recommend the best restaurants and beaches. The rum punch served every evening at sunset is a very nice bonus. The hotel has a bed and breakfast feel to it, and our stay was very pleasant. It is a short walk to the bars/restaurants. We plan to stay there again.

As good as we had hoped...Posted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: Staff and their genuine goal that you have a great time.
Cons: Rooster somewhere down the hill..
Location: Walking distance to ferry and restaurants and downtown area without the noise of direct downtown
This was perfect for us and we didn't see another place we would have wanted to be ..pool was small but with stunning array of beaches we never thought of even using it. Hotel within easy walk to great places to eat. Glad we rented a car to tour the island (car rentals very expensive). Because there are only about ten rentals here expect to get to know others as much or as little as you wish. Nice open breakfast area and the landscaping was stunning. WiFi worked most of the time.
