This St. Thomas condominium resort includes 110 two-bedroom, two-bath suites in four-story, cream-colored buildings with textured exteriors, pink wood accents, and gray wood railings. All rental suites are located on the ground and second floors and feature terraces or balconies providing partial ocean views; they are furnished with four-chair dining sets.

Suites measure 1,200 square feet and include fully equipped kitchens with four-burner ranges, microwaves, refrigerators, blenders, toasters, coffeemakers, and dishwashers. Stacked washers/dryers provide laundry ease.

Individually owned and rented in owners' absences, suites are decorated according to owners' tastes. All, however, include living/dining rooms, four-stool breakfast bars, and couches and wing chairs. Other features include tile floors and tropical decor and furnishings.

Both ceiling fans and air conditioning provide cooling. Televisions with U.S. cable channels and VCRs supply entertainment. Housekeeping is provided Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Local calls are complimentary, but guests must use calling cards for long distance calls.

More lounge chairs lie on a wood deck surrounding a 40-by-24-foot swimming pool. The resort provides complimentary snorkeling gear. “Good location”

We stayed at the Anchorage for 1 wk during a family vacation. We had a difficult time locating the property; however, after arriving @ the property we realized that the property was in a great location. The only negative was the check in procedure. Like many others, we arrived and could not get into the property due to a security gate. We waited and followed a resident in...only to be unable to locate an office. We found a housekeeper, who called the office, who sent someone over to get us checked in. This was a little discouraging after traveling all night. The condo was nice, clean and close to the beach. Parts of the beach were very rocky! But not enough to ruin our fun. The pool is small but convenient. Overall, the Anchorage is an ideal place for a family vacation.

Traveler's tip

Rent a car! Driving on the left side is not as difficult as it sounds. You will save money and see more of the island on your own schedule without having to depend on taxi services...plus taxi can be very expensive if you plan to see a lot of the beautiful beaches and sights.
