“Great stay”
Great stay, was there for my 20th anniversary! We had chocolates and a very nice card when we arrived. The food was excellent but expensive ! We were told that booking a trip on their catamaran was no problem but whenever got there we found out it was booked for the whiole weekend. I found a company on my own and and booked an offsite trip that was great! I lost my sunglasses in the bay one day and the whole activity staff was out in the ocean with snorkel gear trying to help me find them!! All the staff was very very nice! The pool and bay was awesome! Would go back for sure!
“Ritz Carlton St. Thomas in a class of it's own on all the caribbean islands.”
Outstanding service and welcome by the staff for the entire stay. Beautiful grounds and layout of the property. I wanted to book a better view but the hotel assured me that I would be able to upgrade once I arrived on site. The upgrade was not available on the day we arrived. The hotel room location was just fine but it did not have a view of the water. All in all it was a very nice room location with unparalleled service and attention to detail. Excellent breakfast buffet, dinners in Bleu Waters and sunset excursion. Any complaints of this property or staff should be ignored from previous commentors. I had some concerns due to what others complained about but there were no issues what so ever. The staff was charming and a true compliment to the people of St. Thomas. I would only add a piano bar or some type of nighly entertainment.
“NICE BUT EXPENSIVE”
This is a nice hotel, private beach, nice pool, good service. We have some problems with one of the restaurants so we decided just not to stay there that night. Too expensive too, a can of soda will cost you 5 dollars in your room, so if you could go out around Red Hook there are some good restaurants in the area. The beach is a little rocky so bring your swimming shoes and dont forget to bring your noodle. There is a charge of 3 dollars to deliver food in the beach and prices in the honor bar in your room are extremely high. The breakfast buffett is nothing special and expensive, i had a terrible omelette there. I would not recommend it. The other restaurants had good food and good service. Lot of Iguanas in the second beach but nothing to be scared. Would be better this hotel if they could offer the all inclusive.
“Great experience and service.”
Went to two islands, St John (Westin) and Thomas (Ritz) the time on St Thomas was by far the better experience. The hotel staff was great at the Ritz from check in to check out. They managed to address my every need without hovering. The hotel grounds are beautiful, but the structure and interior of rooms are careworn and not "5 Star". The bed, I thought to be very uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get back home and sleep on my own mattress. Overall, I found the island of St. Thomas to be much friendlier and the service better, they really seem to appreciate tourists.
“Excellent Hotel Choice”
Entire stay was a pleasure. Everything was as promised. Staff went out of their way to help us. Thank you Ritz-Carlton for a wonderful anniversary trip!
“Simply, The Best......”
My husband and I got engaged in Sept 2010 in St Thomas and had the unique experience of sharing Hurricaine Earl with the Ritz staff. The staff provided exceptional service with a welcoming, professional, friendly approach. All the staff were awesome- but two staff were outstanding: Isabella from inroom dining and the GM Mark. Isabella, created a romantic candle lit atmosphere with rose petals at one of their great restaurants and coordinated a fabulous dinner for us with the fabulous Ritz chocolates and champagne! Mark, the General Manager at the time, was very visible, professional and provided the guests with confidence that we were safe during the strom and even gave us certificates after that we survived Hurricaine Earl! We loved it so much, that we returned a year later for our honeymoon! We were sad to hear Isabella had transferred to Atlanta,GA and that Mark had transferred to the Cayman Islands. The 2011 staff was terrific, and special Kudos to Loma, the sushi chef at Blue Water who made us fabulous" 5-star sushi creations" that were incredible! He is AMAZING and a "must have" during a Ritz stay. The spa staff were friendly and hospitible- especially Jennifer who did my nails and gave me my favorite almond coconut tea (ahhhh)! The infinity pool is gorgeous and the staff were always available and very friendly. We also highly recommend Mr Miller who is a local cab driver! We love this resort and would highly recommend to those who want," simply the best"....!
“Hotel&Staff, BEST EVER!!”
Very clean, beautiful room!! Grounds very well maintained with a large gorgeous pool. The resturants were all very good but the best thing about our stay was the "staff". Very friendly and accommodating, went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. We won't stay any where else except "The Ritz"!!!
“Honeymoon at the Ritz”
We stayed at the Ritz on St. Thomas for our honeymoon in September of 2011. The location and staff at the hotel were great, the scenery was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the on sight snorkeling, kayaks and other beach activities included in our reservation. We saw sting rays and a multitude of tropical fish just off the hotels private beach! We loved sitting on our balcony and eating breakfast each morning. We thought the room service breakfast was a little over prices (try $9 for a 1/2 grapefruit!) so we got some things in Red Hook and made use of the in room fridge for our morning breakfast. Two small negatives were some ants in out bathroom/coffee station and a less than helpful concierge. We did not complain about the ants so we don't know how the hotel would have responded, but it wasn't a big deal. The concierge that we asked for information on going over to St. John's for the day essentially told us to look it up ourselves and gave us a brochure, not what I'd expect from a higher end hotel concierge. He was very friendly, just not a informed as we would have liked. All and all we had a wonderful time and will likely return.
“Our wonderful vacation”
After reading several reviews of this hotel and then actually going to this one I wasn't sure what to think. Some good reviews, some bad, etc.I am pretty picky and like nice places and I have to say that out of all the hotels in and around St Thomas..THIS hotel blows them all away. The only 5 star resort in St Thomas for a reason.Level of customer satisfaction is second to none! We were there for 5 days and the staff in the ENTIRE hotel is the friendliest I have ever seen in any hotel including other Ritz hotels I have stayed in.Special kudos to the drivers at this hotel. They were all excellent with Rum punch drinks given to us when we arrived and while we stayed.Definitely ask for "Cash" who I call Cash Money lol who helped us with our rooms to dining, etc. Also the guy Nate and the guy who I called "Misery" who had been to Missouri where we are from were both friendly and great.Another one of the guys even let us borrow his cooler for a couple days after my cheap one bought at the grocery store broke! The guy from Chattanooga who checked us in and the girl (not sure of names!) who checked us out were great also.Great directions to beaches etc.The hotel has a mix of turquoise water and blue water around it.The pool and hottub are amazing,Patagon dive shop is the real deal.the bar is great,Bluewater restaurant is a must for brunch .The room was great, tub and shower in ours and every one has a great balcony with beach or garden views. I will be returning,5 star, excellent hotel!
“Not a true 5-Star, but everything is 5-Star priced”
The Ritz is the best hotel in St Thomas if quality and nice amenities are important, but don't be mistaken by the name. The room cleaning service needs major improvements, but the hotel staff is top-notch. Although the hotel is classified as a 5-Star, it truly is not--a 4-Star rating is more accurate. But, unfortunantly room and restaurant prices are at a 5-Star level; food, drinks, taxis are all very expensive.
