Hotel experience

Pros: Letting us extend our check out by 1 hour as our flight did not leave until 4:30 P.M.
Cons: Early check in even if the room is not ready.
We arrived early 2:30 on the water taxi and were not allowed to check in until 4:30. This would not be a problem if all the American airline flight cancellations were not waiting to check in at 4:30 along with us. Needless to say it created a long backup at 4:30 which you could have been avoided if you let us check in at 2:30. I know the rooms were not ready at 2:30 but we could have gotten the check in out of the way and shortened the line at 4:30. Service needs to improve and quit using the "you're in the islands" as an excuse for bad service. Bad service is bad service where ever you are. There was a large dead cockroach in our room which was a little creepy but at least he was dead which means the rooms are sprayed. I guess this is the best you can get in St. Thomas

Not worth it

The rooms are really outdated, the shower and sink have bleach running through the water and the room usually smells like bleach for a few hours after you shower. The hotel staff is not helpful. The food is gross and overpriced. I bought a water from the gift shop @ 3.50 a pop and it tasted like salt water.

Pros: The only thing I liked was that it was directly across from the ferry terminal.

Location: Convenience.
Pray that you don't get stuck checking in during a airline cancellation. You could be stuck deep in line with one person working the front desk. I'd estimate 50 people trying to check in. The line was out the door and down the sidewalk. I wish I would have known how bad it is. I don't know if most of the Charlotte Amalie hotels are this bad, but just don't know. Room 248 had a dirty carpet, toilet seat didn't stay up. Wrong toilet tank top. Shower head broken. Asked for additional coffee packets and they were never delivered. Air conditioner leaked water onto me and the carpet by the coffee maker.

Good budget place to crash

Location: Reasonable walking distance to downtown shopping area/restaurants. We did walk to and from Paradise Point from here, but it was a hike!
We stayed here one night because our resort was booked. It is on the main road along the harbor, within reasonable walking distance to downtown. Our room did have a nice view of the water. The room was clean enough, everything was just a little worn and tired. It is a courtyard hotel, so it can get a little noisy as people go by on the walkways. There were a few very friendly and helpful employees (our AC was not working and they sent maintenance up right away). The restaurant service was extremely slow (we did expected a slower pace) and food was mediocre. If you intend to be out doing activities and seeing the islands and need a place to clean up and sleep, the Windward Passage would be a good choice.

Stayed two nights while working in the island. Hotel location is not great, unless you're taking a ferry. However, it's not awful either. It's close enough to many restaurants and bars that you can just walk. As for the hotel itself. It was mostly clean and pretty enough. The room was ok. The staff were friendly. I really can't complain about anything, but it's definitely nothing to rave about.

Pros: Less expensive than most other hotels.
Cons: How do you turn on the shower?
Hotel was within a short walk to "Downtown" and the ferry to St John. Restaurant was good. Only drawback was not understanding how to turn on the shower.

Cons: Staff attitude, decor, fittings and fixings, WIFI.
Location: "Historic District", a few blocks away, washouts watch sellers hustling you to go inside. We did find a gem for breakfast/lunch called Bumpa's Café.
A very sad place that needs to be knocked down and started from scratch.

Location: Walking distance to the ferry and some restaurants
Close to ferry service to other islands. Short drive to airport. Not much to do around the hotel.
