Convenient locationPosted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Very quiet.
Needed a spot that was located right in the middle of four different activities, and Windward Passage filled the bill perfectly. A missing blanket was providEd as requested promptly.

Pleasant SurprisePosted Apr 10, 2014
Needed a place to stay in St. Thomas last week while getting some work done on island. I have stayed at many of the hotels in St. Thomas and have driven past this property many times before. I was pleasantly surprised with this property. Recently renovated and updated rooms and the front desk clerk Linda is a true professional. Any hotel in St Thomas would be lucky to have her!

Good hotel near Tortola Ferry dockPosted Apr 9, 2014
Everything was as expected. My only criticism: the pool lounge chair cushions and chair cushions are really worn and dirty. Not pleasant to lay on while enjoying the hot, tropical sun. They need to be replaced.

With the Expedia price it is good valuePosted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Central location, acceptably clean, comfortable beds, great showers, reasonable price.
Cons: Add more front desk staff when groups of people arrive, solve the de-programming card lock problem, add more laundry facilities for guests.
Location: There were about 10 local restaurants withing walking distance of the hotel. The ferry toTortolla and other destinations is across the street.
This hotel is centrally located to the ferry dock, the downtown area, and many good restaurants. It has very adequate rooms and is acceptably clean. The beds are comfortable and the showers are first class. There is a large courtyard area in the middle of the hotel which is open to the sky which has a swimming pool and outdoor seating around tables. There is an OK cafe within the courtyard. This hotel is not sparkling new, but it is not run down either. The coded cards for the door locks tend to de-program and you have to go down the front desk to have them re-programmed. People tend to come to the hotel in bunches when the ferry arrives. For some reason they do not increase their staff at these times and almost always there is a long delay in checking in or out because the one person at the front desk can't process all of the people that arrive at one time. When I called the hotel to book a room the rate I was quoted was $270 per night. When I checked on Expedia I got a $140 per night price. The Expedia price makes this a good value.

Cons: The Hotel rating should be lowered to 2.0. We stayed in Sugarbay , a beautiful and enjoyable hotel at the beach with excellent facilities.
Hotel falsely claimed that it has free access to INTERNET. There was no Wi-Fi, even the phone did not work. Room was dirty. Plastic cups in a 3.2 ranking hotel are unheard off . It is not on the beach and deserves no more than a 2.0 rating. We only spent about 30-40 minutes at the premises and used cell phones to make requests to Expedia to find us a suitable hotel.

Incredible disappointment in St. ThomasPosted Mar 26, 2014
If you enjoy camping in the heat next to a freeway, you will love this hotel. If you are looking for a clean hotel for a nice quiet nights sleep - this is not the hotel for you. We didn't expect this to be a Ritz but we did expect for nearly $300 per night we would get a relatively nice hotel that was clean and and quiet in a decent location. NOT THE CASE. Our room was dated and the AC was not able to cool the room. We moved. The next was the same. The noise from the adjoining street was horrendous. There were bars that were open all night with music blaring and the streets surrounding the hotel are literal slums. The hotel in general is dirty, dated and under managed. The pool is very basic - about what you would find at a motel 6. The landscaping is sparse and overall this looks like a hotel that had its day in the early 80's and has been in decline since. I highly recommend searching elsewhere.

Too close to the main drag = noisy nightPosted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The view of the harbor.
Cons: see above list of things
Location: The close proximity to downtown was good for taking the ferry over to St Johns and seeing the city center historical sights.
We didn't know the traffic level was going to equal a noisy night...didn't sleep well at all. The carpeting was stained, dirty. The balcony couldn't be called one since it was too narrow to sit a chair on. The tv had only sound, no picture, and we had to wait over an hour before someone came up to correct something to get it to work. After shutting it off for the night, it was the same way the next day.

Close to ferry/shoppingPosted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: As above
Cons: The toilet had some issues but when asked for someone to look at it this was done right away and the front desk staff followed up.
Location: As previously stated close to ferry terminal, shopping, airport and lots of attractions
The hotel was within walking distance from the ferry terminal, 8 min from the airport and the shopping. It was clean, staff were very pleasant. I felt it had a sort of old world charm.

Rude staff and crummy restaurantPosted Mar 5, 2014
This hotel was overpriced, outdated, the staff was rude and the room was dirty
