Returning to my country for a funeral
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Cons: If anything can be improved I would say a paint job using gloss paint if possible.
The Richview Hotel is worth the visit. The staff is excellent and I like how the owner is always available when you need him. My family and I stayed 17 days in total. No regrets. Rooms are very comfortable and all the necessities available for being far away from home. You have meals provided upon request. If you need to be picked up or dropped off you just have to let the staff know in advance. The view was our favorite overlooking the water. If you're looking for a place to relax and not have to worry about being crowded this is the place. I will stay again when I go back.

Pros: The views from the dinning room
Cons: limited choices for breakfast
Location: in the hills you will need transportation
St. Vincent is a very besutiful but hilly a nd mountainous island. The Richview is located in the highlands or hills. Although there are no stores or shops within a comfortable walk from the property, the owner, Michael can drive you into town or anywhere else in the Kingstown general area. The rooms are very clean and spacious albeit somewhat dated. My room's bathroom's shower was quite large and had an electric on-demand tankless water heater. Depending on other usage in the hotel, the water pressure was not constant. Uf yoy have stayed in the caribbean before, you have experienced the " island rush" while taking a shower. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals tend to be island based and simple. There is no bar, but beer is available. The views from the dinning room (actualy a porch) is breath-taking with views of the hills and the sea and other islands. The room rates are very reasonable for the area. The rooms are large, comfortable and air conditioned. CAVEAT: if you are bringing electric devices e.g. chargers. you will need UK type converters, but the hotel does have some. Overall it was quite nice.

In a neighborhood which is nice--but far from anything to do, see or access to a grocery store--Always required taxi service--Chris is great as a taxi service and a tour guide! We wanted to walk or take a bus to Villa or Kingston or anywhere-and that was not possible--so it is kind of expensive--As a number of the islands, but particularly here-there are a crazy # of dogs barking all night long!

VISIT TO ST. VINCENT
Posted Jan 31, 2013
Pros: THE VIEW IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE PEOPLE WERE VERY HOSPITABLE AND COURTEOUS.
Cons: THERE WAS NO MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM AND NO AIRCON IN THE LIVING ROOM. BUT THE AIRCON IN THE BEDROOM IS VERY EFFICIENT.
HAVE BEEN VISITING ST. VINCENT EVERY YEAR AND SINCE ON BUSINESS THE BAGS ARE VERY HEAVY. THIS HOTEL MADE SURE THAT WE WERE PICKED UP AT THE AIRPORT AND THE HEAVY BAGS WERE SENT TO OUR ROOM DOWN THE STAIRS AND THEN WERE AGAIN TAKEN UP WHEN WE WERE CHECKING OUT THE NEXT DAY. ALL IN ALL A VERY GREAT EXPERIENCE AND COMFORTABLE STAY. THANKS TO MICHAEL AND HIS EFFICIENT TEAM. THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY WAS BREATHTAKING AND SAW A HUGE RAINBOW ON THE FIRST MORNING. LOVELY.

A Caribbean Guest House

Pros: Large rooms, walk in shower, decent balcony
Cons: Surprise cost of the home cooked meals
Location: Not near anything; the walk up the hills into town will soon get you into shape.
Very pleasant guest house; two large clean rooms, large balcony, cooking facilities, large satellite TV, large walk-in shower; pleasant and helpful staff. Main problem is location; it's a stiff 30 minute walk up some quite steep hills to get into town (Kingstown); the closest grocery store is a 20 minute walk back towards the airport; there are no restaurants close by. So we ate local home-cooked meals in the guest house, chicken pork or fish plus rice, pasta or potatoes and a few vegetables and a glass of water.; our surprise, on leaving early in the morning, was to learn the meals cost us US$15.00 each and not about EC$15.00 (US$5.70) that was the average charged in local restaurants for such meals. We felt at the end that we'd been ripped off.

First class at a budget rate!

Pros: Everything
Cons: A little far from Kingston (if that matters)
Location: Beautiful views from room and a 5 minute walk to a cute little black-sand beach
I found the Rich View on Expedia by sorting on "cost" for my travel dates, and this was the cheapest hotel I could find, so I wasn't expecting much in terms of "niceness". But boy was I wrong and extremely pleased when I arrived. Rich View is one of the cleanest and most comfortable hotels I've stayed in for a long time! I had a corner room that was spotless, there was a King-sized bed, vaulted ceilings, a "wrap-around" balcony facing the sea, and the owner (Michael) and his family were super nice. Pick-up and drop-off for the airport were included, along with a "continental" breakfast, which was generous enough to more than fill me up. I would go back to the Rich View.

Pros: The cleanliness of the rooms. And the location is not bad at all quiet, at the same time close to town & airport.
Cons: I had to leave earlier.... Only thing because of the way rooms were situated umbrella should be readily avaiable if the weather changes
Location: Quiet, hilly (like most of St. Vincent) had areas to walk around ( if you're keep fit type)
Staff was polite and pleasent. owner took time to meet who ever he could and provided transportation to the best of thier ability. Assisted in different situations as i unfortunately had to shorten my stay due to work related issues. Otherwise have already recommended Rich View to my co workers and insist my husband go with me next time.
