Rock Festival

Pros: It was close to our activities.
Cons: Continental breakfast and clarity of front desk staff
Location: Nothing that I know of to do nearby. There were a couple of gas stations, fast food restaurants, and a Dollar General close.
Our hotel was way overpriced for a room that was Super 8 quality. The front desk staff/ owners could not be understood at all! The so-called continental breakfast consisted of coffee, milk, orange juice, toast, very limited selection of rolls and Little Debbie SWISS ROLLS. No waffles to make, no biscuits and gravy, nothing hot! The room didn't have an alarm clock, the only coffee offered in the room was decaf, also no ice or ice bucket was available. Will not stay again.

Bad Breakfast, Bad English

Pros: The room was clean
Cons: A better FREE breakfast. No lodging fee. We have never paid a lodging fee in the many years we have stayed there. There is no reason for a lodging fee
Location: We visit family in the area a couple times a year.
The staff was hard to understand. Bad English. Expedia quoted $159.98. The motel tacked on "Lodging Charge" of $9.98 for phone, WE USED NO PHONE, Mini Bar THEY DON'T HAVE ANY ROOM MINI BAR. The breakfast was white or wheat bread, HOHO's, cereal, frozen rolls. The final bill was $183.56 including taxes. We are 67 years old. No AARP discount. Most of the clients are working men who need a good breakfast. This motel is a poor example of Wisconsin hospitality. We have stayed at this motel many times since it was built and may never return.

Nice hotel, poor service

Pros: Clean, easy to find, nice, well-maintained building for a good rate.
Cons: Customer service. You need to have someone at the desk who can communicate with and understand the customers.
Location: There isn't much nearby, we were attending a local concert about 30 minutes away.
The facility itself was nice, clean and well-maintained. We did have some difficulty with the staff, however. The person who checked us in spoke little to no English. Our questions were met with blank stares and nervous fidgeting. Our check-in took far longer than necessary, and our keycard didn't work when we got to the room. After some pantomime charades with the clerk to illustrate that the key did not work, we got the key reprogrammed and got into our room. It was a nice room, but instead of one king bed, we got 2 double beds. My travelling companion discovered that $40 in cash was missing from inside her purse. The room doesn't have a safe, but we surely didn't think that anything would go missing from inside a zippered pocket on a closed purse. We tried discussing this with the staff, but as mentioned - they spoke little or no English. We were met with blank stares, and he picked up a notebook, flipped through it, set it down again, looked around, played with his keyboard - I have no idea what he was doing, but it was pretty clear he had no idea what we were saying. We also wanted to pay with a different credit card than the one that we used to make the reservation. The language barrier made this impossible, and we just gave up. A side note - the paperwork for the reservation said that check-in was by 11 AM. The sign on the wall said check-in was 3 PM, and that check out was at 11 AM. This didn't affect our check-in, but it sure could have.
