Pros: Quiet, beautiful location
Cons: It is really essential to have a car for access to the hotel and to make the most of a stay here
Location: Beamish Museum - outstanding living museum. Enjoyable for visitors of all ages.

Great place to relaxPosted Mar 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Classic rooms are quite small and you will need to upgrade if you want a decent view. Beds are very comfortable and we had a lovely bathroom.Staff very friendly and helpful (except one reception lady) . Breakfast is good quality, great staff, but the floor had not been cleaned from a previous function. They also do Afternoon Tea. The food at the "Stables" is excellent so highly recommended. They have their own micro brewery so plenty of ales to try if you like. Again, very nice staff in there. Large grounds which are nicely kept and overall a nice stay.

Absolutely greatPosted Nov 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
I don't understand the negative comments by other people who have stayed here. The room was great and the bed comfortable - perhaps because we had a "de luxe" room (number 003). The staff were very pleasant, and the Stables bar and restaurant was excellent - superb food and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed stay at hotel, only downside was that the room was to hot. Service was very good and excellent food in the Stable Bar. Room was very clean.
