The Tulip hotel was absolutely lovely. Their reception staff fabulous. their recommendation for where to eat was great. The only thing negative that I would say is their recommendation for a local guide. I told the front desk that I had tried to connect with a group, she recommended. He was young, inexperienced and wad more of a driver than a guide. While he was a sweetheart and wanted to please, he could share little to nothing on the history, provide no tid bits of culture and it was really very upsetting in the end. This is less about ther hotel and more about their recommendation.

Hotel is nice, a bit old already, but comfortable. Location is great, just on the main square, next to the river. There are cafes, restaurants and shopping all around in walking distance. Parking is also available here but expensive (30 Euro/day). Beer from minibar is for 6 Euro.

Initially we were unsure due to the great special price we got online in the morning.
We were very pleasantly surpised with how new, clean and spacious everything was then the staff were really helpful. Internet was great, fast and realiable. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the old part of Bratislava. It has loads of character and a 'soul' to it that is missing from the large chains.
When we had a problem it was very promptly and efficiently dealt with which is a sign of a well-run establishment.
Take time to enjoy Bratislava in a leisurely fashion!

Botel provides basic but sufficient accommodation. Unfortunately the Botel was undergoing major refurbishment during our stay and the restaurant and bar were closed. Our room looked like it had been partly refurbished: the ensuite bathroom was new, and some fitted cupboards looked modern, however the carpet , despite being good quality, had been down for some time as it was faded by the sun, which poured through the windows. Decor looked a bit institutional: dark wooden formica panelling with large depressing prints of historical naval battles on the walls! Continental breakfast was OK, but cooked breakfast disappointing. Also, dogs allowed in restaurant: although well behaved, I saw their owner hand feeding the dog, then going up to the buffet and touching the food!

A tangle of twisting alleys, trendy restaurants, and inviting bars, Stare Mesto (Old Town) is the pulse of Bratislava. The district houses many historic monuments and governmental institutions including the Ministry of Culture. Architectural attractions of note include the Romanesque-Gothic St. Martin's Cathedral and Michael's Gate, the only preserved gate of the medieval city fortifications.
