We absolutely loved our stay there! The hotel staff was excellent, and the room was great! A very close drive to downtown and Penn State College.

Nice Surprise in State College

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Everything -- price, comfort, location, staff, cleanliness, proximity to PSU.
Location: The hotel is one of three that are approximately 1 mile from the main PSU campus. There's also a terrific brew pub across the street.
I booked the Country Inn and Suites because the chain I normally book with to visit my daughter at PSU was unavailable, but based on my experience, the Country Inn and Suites will definitely become my first choice in the future. Room was large, light, and comfortable; staff was extremely courteous and helpful; and all of the facilities were spotless and well-maintained. There was even a nicely appointed little covered smoking area (away from an equally nice non-smoking area) that my sister, a smoker, appreciated immensely in this era where smokers are usually treated like third class citizens. The hotel was full of little touches such as fresh coffee and lemonade in the lobby at all times, cookies, etc. Great experience, and half the price of comparable State College hotels.

Comfortable Hotel with Bed and Breakfast Feel

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: It was nice coming back to the fresh baked cookies after a long day out an about Penn State.
Cons: It would be good if they had a lounging area to take a break, although the pool area seemed to be designated for that.
Location: Penn State is right near by and usually has some activities going on. Don't forget to visit the Creamery for some fresh Ice Cream.
The inside decor is very welcoming, with a staircase in the middle and floral decoration. They have a small store to pickup fruits, drinks, etc. I liked the fresh cookies and tea that was available in the lobby. The lobby isn't to large but is meant to lead you to your room. We were given a handicap accessible room, so we had an extra large bathroom and were close to the stairs and elevators. Extra towels and pillows were placed in the room, and the air conditioning kept the room comfortable. There was a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. The pool and excercise room looked nice, but we didn't have time to use either. Breakfast had a good variety, although the eggs were the typical powdered. The stay was an overall enjoyable experience.

Great hotel close to PSU.

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: We stayed in a king suite... it was very clean, ample counter space, seating, storage and closet space. Spacious. Liked coffee/tea, etc available 24/7
Cons: The only thing we didn't like was the breakfast. It was not nearly as good as breakfast at The Ramada Inn State College which is MUCH less expensive.
Location: Lots to due in town.
Stayed for 2 nights to attend Special Olympics State Games at PSU.

Very surprised at how nice this hotel was!

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Clean, very clean!
Cons: Late check out if someone is there to do a race so she can go back and shower before I make the three hour ride home.
Location: I was only up there to do the Rothrock then I left
First time in the area. Not sure what to expect. I was really shocked at how nice this hotel was. I will be staying again next year when I go back for my race. There was a microwave and fridge in the room, bathroom essentials, plenty of towels, room was very clean!!

Nice hotel close to Penn State

Posted Jun 3, 2015
Pros: Clean, quiet room. Nice pool. Frig and micro nicely hidden in cabinets.
Cons: The frig in my room barely got to 48*, please note I did not complain to staffs about this during my stay, just informed them at checkout.
Location: Right on the main drag just outside Penn State central. All of Penn State right nearby. Drive a few miles out of town into Amish Country!
Staff moved me to a much better room for my specific needs. Specifically, ground floor near an exit. I also arrived a day early with no notification and they handled it without any problems.

GREAT LOCATION

Posted May 14, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: breakfast could last longer than 10:30
Location: Bryce Jordan Center was nearby as well as shopping..
Check in was effortless except for the fact that they had no rollaway beds. We had to go to Walmart an purchase an air mattress.

Breakfast was the usual hotel continental breakfast items. Not the best selections and the bagel I had was not fresh and the cream cheese was watery. Other than that an excellent stay and I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it highly.
