Very convient to Penn State
Posted Jan 15, 2013
The hotel is a little old and run down looking but the staff was very friendly and helpful and everything was clean. It was within walking distance to the Penn State campus which was perfect since our trip there was to tour the campus. We were able to leave the car at the hotel and walk to Penn State for our visit.

Clean and friendly hotel
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: Location and pricing
Location: I liked the fact thaat it is close to Penn State campus activities
Before entering the hotel we were concened that the hotel may be a bit run down (by the appearance of the outside of the hotel as we walked up), however, when we went inside we were pleasantly surprised....it was evident that the interior had been renovated. While we didnt use many of the ammenities that the hotel had to offer, we did find our room clean and the staff was very friendly. The room was ready when we arrived (and we were met with a pleasant suprise of a room upgrade too!), and check out was very easy. Reasonable pricing.

Great for a visit to State College
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: Great location
Cons: Outdoor parking only
Location: Close to everything you need/want in State College
The hotel was very clean and well-maintained. The room are fairly basic, but comfortable and contained amentities such as a coffee maker and mini fridge. The location can't be beat as you are just a few steps from local bars, restaurants, shops and PSU campus. Highly recommend!

good hotel, pleasant stay

A very nice hotel. It is really near from anything you need at penn state. However, the wifi didn't work sometimes, I dislike that a little bit since I need to work with internet on my computer. Also, sometimes the heater didn't work very goo. Indeed the staff at the front desk were really nice. All of them were very friendly to try help me.

Stay here if you enjoy loud music in your room
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Staff attitude, quality of the finish in elevators and hallways.
From the outside this hotel looks reasonable, and the interior lobby is pleasing and a pleasant surprise. However, the elevators and hallways give this hotel a very shabby look, more akin to a one or two star hotel. This I could put up with since the rooms themselves were very nice and definitely in the three star range. I checked in at 10pm at night and the first thing I noticed in my room was the loud music blaring from the restaurant/bar next door to the hotel. No problem I thought, by the time I'll be back from a late night dinner, they will have surely have turned the music down. No such luck however, and after returning at 11pm, the music was even louder so I called the front desk to request a different room. They were actually surprised to find out that I could hear the music since "it can't be heard from the lobby". I guess not all hotel receptionists can be acoustic experts. So they gave me a different room at the other end of the hotel but didn't make any effort to confirm that it was quieter. The new room was indeed quieter, but I guess that Penn State students get more deaf as the night goes on, so within a few minutes of getting into bed, the music got loud again, but at that point I was so tired I decided not to care and try and get some sleep. By 2am the music went away but I'd already made up my mind at that point to cut short my stay and check out first thing in the morning and make a promise to never stay here again.
