Older Hampton near University
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: Clean room, comfortable beds, HD tv. Wifi. 2 minutes from Penn State campus.
Cons: Plumbing, wall insulation.
Location: Great for Penn State access.
Stayed 6 nights. The hotel was near capacity for 2 nights. We were awakened several times due to loud guests in hallways. External noises in the mornings were also present and bothered some guests. After the crowds were gone the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The room itself was clean and well equipped. With all amenities except a fridge. Standard wifi available with a good signal. Our room had a adequate shower on the low flow side. The toilet required plunging every day. The hotel manager should stay in 224 for a few days with this toilet.

Nice hotel, quiet & clean - good location although still had to drive to College Ave shops and Bryce Jordan Center. Great breakfast in the morning which starts at 6. Super easy checkout. Would definitely book again.

Very happy with Hampton inn. Check in was smooth. Staff were as sweet as possible. Gave us 2 hrs extra time to check out. We really appreciate their help. All the staff at the reception are very friendly. This is our 8th time there. We always find them nice, warm, and courteous. In 2 yes staff changed but their hospitality, and caring effort, friendly treatment did not change. Love this Hampton inn.

Walking distance to stadium
Posted Jan 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
Upon checking in, the desk asked if we would like water and when I said yes I was given enough water for my whole party and some snacks from a local candy store. This set the tone for our stay. Breakfast was very nice with some kind of egg and meat, breads, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, and fruit. It was a home football weekend so the staff had a hard time keeping up with demand. The hotel is less than a mile walk (uphill) to the stadium so free parking and easy access back to the hotel where you can easily drive into State College or walk to Damon's for some food and drinks.
